Coaching Carousel 2026

It could be as simple as, they developed a plan and decided that they will see that plan through fully.
It’s that. I think if they really believe Minter is the favorite and another team ponies up and makes an offer, they may make a move at that stage. But as of now, no reason to not go through the process until someone forces their hand

So, seems Kingsbury is paired with Minter, Weaver, and Webb* for the opening here.

Have heard nothing on the DC pairings for Kubiak, Brady, or Scheelhaase*

*Assuming they get 2nd interviews that I've heard they'd like to line up as of earlier this week. Unsure if anything has changed since then

Not saying its impossible, just not expecting it. Weather would be a factor in this case, but even normally, that NFCG won't end until like 10pm ET. Imagining you're not flying out that night, but even in the morning, you're talking afternoon Monday at the earliest.

Now, IF Steve/Eric, etc. decided to fly to them, that's a whole different story.

just seen the weather reports lol

I think he’s one of the top candidates but him not being hired yesterday seemingly indicates that they hold a couple of options next week at equal or higher levels

Theory:

EDC and Stevie B wants Jesse Minter.

Lamar and Derrick Henry wants Kubiak.

Hiring Minter without giving Kubiak a second in-person interview will have a high chance of upsetting Lamar.

Very bad for contract negotiations.

In the end.. it’ll be Minter. They just wanna feel like Lamar’s voice is heard.

I don't think it's anything deeper other than going through the process and not making a move until they feel like they need to or want to. There's no pressure to hire Minter right now. If Vegas comes back and puts the pressure on, maybe they make a move. But as of now, there's no reason they need to make a choice.

I just think kubiak was one of their top choices from the get go so its only right to give him another interview.

Hmmm I could be wrong but I have a theory that Lamar may not be a major fan of Klint Kubiak offense. This offense looked pretty good with Joe Flacco but I wonder about the fit for Lamar Jackson . when I reach out to my homie Gemini aka Google AI this what it said about the downside of having Klint Kubiak match with Lamar :

The primary downside to Klint Kubiak's Shanahan-style wide zone offense for Lamar Jackson is its rigid under-center structure. While the scheme creates wide-open lanes, it often restricts a quarterback's vision and mobility by forcing their back to the defense during deep play-action drops.

Potential Drawbacks

  • Reduced Vision: The heavy use of under-center play-action requires Jackson to turn his back to the field, momentarily losing sight of the pass rush and secondary.
  • Stifled Scrambling: In a system predicated on timing and specific footwork, Jackson’s elite "off-script" playmaking might be suppressed in favor of structured, quick-game reads.
  • Learning Curve: Transitioning from Todd Monken’s spread-based concepts to a West Coast system would likely take a full season to master, potentially wasting a year of Jackson’s prime.

I gotta be honest... it would be total organizational malpractice to give even one fuck about what a 32 year old RB thinks about a HC search. That's not an opinion I would ever, in a million years, care about. He could be Walter Payton and I still wouldn't ask that.

I don't see many paths where Henry is even on the Ravens two years from now.

Will he thank the fans when he leaves though?

This is how I feel about Kubiak

I dont know why anyone thinks of him like he's a slam dunk. I've been saying the offensive coaches this cycle blow and that changed only with McDaniel's firing. After we chose not to go with him, I am firmly in give me Minter, Saleh, or Flores. Obviously the last two are out so Minter it is.

I agree that there’s no slam dunk but idk that I agree that he “blows.”
The main thing for me in response to that, though, is that I don’t think Minter fits the slam dunk category either. I think either of them would be good options. But I like the DCs available better than the OCs.
Either way, none of us knows who will translate better to HC because we’ve never seen either of them do it and it is a completely different job than being a Coordinator.

I agree. The FO kinda flashed that they may be going for a HC who calls plays on his side of the ball.

Personally, I'd trust minter to do that more. I dont think Kubiak is a bum. I just think he's being way overinflated
