Coaching Carousel 2026

I mean kubiak couldnt be a finalist because it wasnt even time for him to get a 2nd interview right? I thought we were racing against the clock here with minter trying to get signed by raiders and we couldnt interview kubiak till today anyway? Yea only i can see him not being a finalist is because of other scenarios. I dnt believe they thought those other guys outside of minter could be better than kubiak
They had no plans to invite him for a 2nd interview regardless of timing.

I understand that's late info on my part but I wasn't aware that Shula had beat him out for the last finalist spot.

Interesting. Thats what I heard too along with Lamar and others wanting Kliff Kingsbury which I'm not sure he would get. I guess Kubiak didn't impress enough during the interview process. There also been mentioning that Mike MacDonald called the ravens saying Kubiak isn't ready..I have no idea if thats true at all but it's what I heard.

for what its worth
ive only seen diana russini say that lamar and other players wanted kingsbury the day after minter was hired and no one seems to have followed up on or verified that at all

i wonder if that was a little agent white lie to an insider...

Obviously I've got no idea whether Ledford is a good O line coach but he was, apparently, the best name on the market and the one everyone wanted to hire so this seems like a win.

He's got to be better than George Warthog anyway.

what i can say about Ledford is his track record is pretty great

and he's got a lot of support and the seal of approval from the big names in OL training and evaluation - duke mayweather, brandon thorn
and some other guys that know - nate tice, ted nguyen, jon ledyard, JP Acosta

i would say he's generally thought of as a top 5 OL coach in the league right now

I'm thankful for that firing. We got gifted an OL coach. This staff is coming together beautifully so far and have no problem with their patience addressing the coordinators.

not that coordinators aren't important but...
we've got two high level position group hires with run/pass game coordinator titles that should help whoever we hire as the coordinators

the other benefit of hiring Ledford is that you can go after an OC with more of a passing game background if they're a first-time playcalling OC (e.g. scheelhaase, webb, doyle) because Ledford's already in place as the run game coordinator and has helped design and operate very successful outside zone run systems before

Nate or Webb PLEASE
