Week 12 Discussion (Is It Monday Yet?)

Twelve weeks into the 100th season, we have seen many young players step up and make a name for themselves that we will be talking about come NFL 200. With one week left before we stuff our faces with Thanksgiving delight then burn off those calories running wild on Black Friday, will the playoff picture continue to take shape and will some unexpected teams make a late playoff push toward January?

Colts @ Texans: The Colts head to Houston looking to put a fork in the Texans' hopes of winning the AFC South as a sweep would give them the tiebreaker. For Houston, they are looking to rebound following a brutal loss to the Ravens which saw Deshaun Watson sacked seven times, and a defense that allowed 41 points to the Ravens. Their defense will take a hit this week as they will be without CB Lonnie Johnson and safeties Mike Adams & Justin Reid. Colts will be without Marlon Mack for a few weeks meaning more weight will be put on Jacoby Brissett's shoulders to win the game.

Buccaneers @ Falcons: Dan Quinn refused to give up play calling and should have done it in the offseason because he finally did and the Falcons defense has been lights out giving up 12 points in the last two games combined. At 3-7, it's very unlikely 9-7 will get them a late playoff run winning out in a tight NFC playoff chase but eating some turnovers from Winston this weekend will have to do. Winston has turned into 2019 Philip Rivers without father time needing to do anything to help. Throwing 18 interceptions on the year and a season down the drain, it may be time for Bruce to turn to the almighty and powerful, BACKUP QUARTERBACK.

Broncos @ Bills: The Bills sit 7-3 holding firm at the fifth seed thanks to an easy schedule that has seen them beat the Bengals, Giants, Jets, Redskins and the Dolphins twice. They now welcome a 3-7 Broncos team who almost pulled off the upset against the Vikings, and if the Broncos build on their momentum from last week could shock the Bills as they look to get back to the playoffs once again.

Giants @ Bears: The Bears lost an ugly offensive battle to the Rams and now welcome the Giants to Chicago for what could be another ugly offensive battle. Giants are hoping to end a 6 game losing streak coming off their bye but a banged up offensive line against Khalil Mack is asking to get Daniel Jones killed. Though if they follow what the Rams did where Mack did not get a single tackle, they might be alright. Trubisky practiced in full on Wednesday but his status is stil unknown for Sunday.

Steelers @ Bengals: Twelve weeks in and Zac Taylor is still looking for his first win as Head Coach and is probably already scheming things for Joe Burrow for next season. Cincy looks for their first win of the season against a Steelers team who will be without JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Conner & Diontae Johnson. Their starting Center Pouncey will be serving a three game suspension, while the Bengals may get an upgrade in pass protection with Cordy Glenn returning to the team. This will be one of their best shots to get a win remaining in the schedule. Burrow is only five months away Bengals fans.

Dolphins @ Browns: What is it with bad teams at the top of the draft winning lately and ruining their draft stock lately? Dolphins won two in a row, Falcons won two in a row and now the Browns are looking for their third straight win. At 4-6, their playoff hopes aren't quite over but a loss to the Dolphins may just seal the deal. Cleveland can keep their playoff hopes alive with a huge win on Sunday.

Panthers @ Saints: This could be a banner year in sports for Louisiana as LSU seems to be marching toward a National Championship game and the Saints could win a Lombardi Trophy in Miami like they did ten years ago. Questions now surround Ron Rivera as this will be the second year in a row the Panthers have collapsed toward the end of the year after a hot start. Will Carolina be ready to crash the party in New Orleans and turn things around or will Ron Rivera's key not work come Monday?

Raiders @ Jets: This could be a trap game as the Jets have won back to back games looking to cause a major shakeup with some upsets. Raiders have turned it around under Gruden and are making their last season in Oakland memorable. The Raiders are only a game behind the Chiefs heading into this week and overlooking the Jets and thinking ahead to the Chiefs could be their downfall. Raiders look to improve to 7-4 and even the records before the big showdown in KC.

Seahawks @ Eagles: It's the battle of the birds as the Seahawks head out East to take on the Philadelphia Eagles who have had their wings cut off. Without Desean, the lack of weapons and a speed guy is very evident and has hurt the Eagles this season. The Eagles have a tough task holding off potential MVP candidate Russell Wilson and company who are 5-0 on the road this season. The season might be over in Philly but hey at least Ben Simmons finally made his first three pointer.

Lions @ Redskins: Would this be considered a tank bowl? It involves the Redskins so why not, and the Lions decided to have some fun and join in because they may want to consider a new QB in a top heavy QB draft. Poor Dwayne Haskins, he's the 2019 Josh Rosen, drafted by a terrible team who may not have any confidence in him, just ask his offensive line. Haskins is doomed and someone needs to save him from Snyder and company.

Jaguars @ Titans: Tennessee sits at 5-5 and had a whole week to celebrate their victory over the Chiefs. Jacksonville comes to town this week after getting blown out by the Colts in Nick Foles' return game. A win by the Titans would keep them in the playoff hunt but a loss could deter their chances. Jacksonville will now try to salvage what's left of the season with what might have been if Foles never got hurt. Which AFC South team will come out on top?

Cowboys @ Patriots: Two teams, only one can win. Two teams that all of America outside of Dallas and Boston hate, but one of them has to win. The Patriots have been getting by on a stingy defense while the offense has seem to lost a step. Dak Prescott continues to impress this season and raising the amount of money he will get from Jerry Jones. Will the young upstart figure out the Patriots defense or will the grizzled veteran Tom Brady continue to do enough just to win on offense?

Packers @ 49ers: Major playoff and NFC Championship location implications in this one as the 49ers begin their toughest stretch of their schedule with the Green Bay Packers. 49ers are also dealing with injuries on offense but seem to be on track to get back TE George Kittle and receivers Deebo Samuel and Emmanuel Sanders in time for tomorrow night. 49ers will be without Dee Ford and OT Joe Staley which should make the Smith Brothers more effective against Jimmy G. Which team will come out on top in San Fran?

Big news for tonight's game. Texans WR Will Fuller will return after missing the last three game games, and it is expected TY Hilton will play for the Colts meaning both Brisset & Watson will have their wide receivers at disposal for this key AFC South game.

so far the playcalling from BOB has been uninspired - texans offence looks slow - tbf until they faced us the 1st quarter has been their worst quarter on offence statistically in terms of points scoring for the whole season by quite some margin

but also maybe we broke these guys

Don't know if Hilton did anything yet since I turned on the game, but this is Hilton when playing the Texans:

2 things so far from this game:

  1. I think we might have broken Deshaun Watson
  2. SO MANY AD BREAKS ALREADY (I've not really had a problem with it that much this season or even last season but this game with the constant changes in possession and a couple of injuries has been consistently ads)

Ferguson did his ankle little bit.
Lot of hits though.

Blown coverage leads to a Texans TD but the Colts are about to retake the lead or tie it up before half.

We are in for a shootout here. Both the Colts & Texans secondaries can't stop anything the opposing offense does. Colts driving down the field no issue, Hopkins and Fuller going off for the Texans.
