General Draft Thoughts

I get that. Seemingly not difficult or as difficult getting info. On most other teams.
yes but we have always been better at keeping things in house than most other teams.

When I rooted for the skins I had inside information way ahead of when it came out. I knew the date they were trading for RG3 on the Monday prior to the trade and the trade happened on a Friday. That's just a small example.

It's definitely better that it stays in house, but I understand how the fans want to know some information :)

I don't know that we are any better at keeping it quiet. perhaps this year we are but in years past, all the same intelligence made available about other teams was available as it concerns all of our visits.

Our defense needs to make sure we can stop the run up front and be the bully. Marlon Davidson is a legit run stopping 5T that can win inside. also..a 300 lb. guy standing up? pretty ridiculous. WR in the first seems like such a luxury pick considering we can't stop the run and we couldn't bring pressure.
Id go Epenesa/Davidson with our first pick and make a move up in round three to make sure aI get darrell Taylor or perhaps Khalid Kareem.

Imagine being able to send. Judon.....Campbell.....Davidson/Epenesa and darrell Taylor off the edge while keeping 7 in coverage and sending an occasional 5th. plus if we take ADG in the 2nd he adds a lot off the edge

I totally disagree with this statement. I've never seen as much Ravens related information as other teams. Many times it just isn't as available.

I'd love Davidson or Epenesa at 28

Our group was never as big as other teams. Our FO just doesn't leak as much as others do. Some players posted their visits on snapchat, twitter or instagram.

Why can't we get ANY intell on who the ravens have met with?
Wf has had the same seven guys since February but has extensive lists for other teams. I did hear that we had a private workout for Javaris Davis planned before restrictions.

really hard to get a sense for who we have any "meetings" with because there's no physical evidence, the ravens side wont leak it so the only way anyone would know is if the prospect themselves announced it/it gets declared to the league office

javaris davis was one of the few corners on the senior bowl roster who didnt consistently embarrass himself

has crazy speed to recover - issue is he had to use it a lot - a bit awkward in transition but could be that developmental type corner who would have to earn it on special teams (hard when you're 5ft8 but the 4.39 40 time might help)

visits for sure because prospects physically had to come to the facility but with regards to actual decisions leaking, there's been basically nothing that's broken early ever that comes from the building

Wonder what position we’re looking at in the first..

Sike. With not being able to fly players out for meetings, they’re probably using merch as their smokescreen

yeah got to think if there's a player they really like (a la Lamar) that we'll do everything possible not to even hint at it

idk that WR would be a luxury - i just want the BPA at this point (as long as it's not linebacker or RB or TE)

if that's DL or Edge then great, if it's McKinney at safety then tbh let's go, if it's WR then great, it it's OL then even better (albeit im starting to doubt that would be BPA at 28 now even as much as i love Ruiz), wouldn't love it if it's a corner (and i imagine if it was then EDC would do everything possible to trade out of the pick) but ultimately would get behind it if the player was that high on the board (someone like CJ Henderson having a crazy fall to 28 or something)

would absolutely love to add a 1st round talent to our defensive front somewhere though - Davidson would be great but I'd love it also to add a 3tech like Madubuike too or obviously an edge

with regards to how we'd use that talent - i dont think Wink would stop blitzing either even as the talent increases - we'd see a lot more sacks though from those blitzes as those guys take advantage of more favourable matchups (like Judon has - with his ability to rush well within a blitz package which isnt quite the same skill as pure edge rushing)

we're still going to attack offences because we want them to make quick decisions that allow our great DBs to make plays/to force throws into our secondary when we're dictating where those throws should go - adding talent just makes the likelihood of a sack higher (Derek Wolfe has shown a nice ability to free up guys around him on deceptive rushes (stunts etc.) too which gives guys more free runs to the QB)

and we typically have a limit on how many players we can bring to the facility. All of these get tracked and now we have nothing to track, so there is less info out there. Again, this draft is going to be very interesting. They only have the interview and tape to go by. That and I'm assuming they all have the medicals.

Would you guys be mad if we drafted Swift at 28?

The majority of people, I believe will say yes. Something akin to the value of that decision. However from my perspective, I really think if we see him as the best RB in the class and the board does not fall exactly as we wanted, I'd have no problem taking him.

Neither would I as long as he’s BPA. I’d rather select him than trade down. With Mark’s career heading towards the end, giving Lamar a young weapon in Swift to grow with would be great

I just can’t see any scenario where he’s anything close to the top player on the board. We’re picking at 28 and there’s certainly 28 players superior to swift not even factoring needs, add in the inevitable blunders of reaches before we pick, there is essentially zero chance swift is even top ten on the board at 28

and that's before you even add the analytics of positional value into the mix
