Around the NFL: News and Rumors

The NFL's attempt at killing the golden goose just got easier. The NFL has hired former 49ers GM Trent Baalke as a Football Operations Consultant working on game related matters, player development and evaluation and officiating review.

Way to go NFL, you just hired the man who killed a franchise into your office. NFL continues to make stupid decisions proving the people in charge need to be wiped out and replaced with smarter business people.

Like Donald Trump. The USFL soooooo screwed up.

So if you play QB, the one thing you should know by heart is how to break a huddle correctly. Apparently Jets QB Christian Hackenberg does not know how to do that. So the team kicked him off the practice field.

During one rep in seven-on-seven drills, as he approached the line of scrimmage, a coach ordered him to re-huddle. When he broke the huddle again — in the wrong fashion for a second time — he was ordered off the field.

Same guy who apparently in June was attempting to smack reporters with footballs can not break a huddle correctly. The 2008 Lions will finally have some company in the form of the 2017 New York Jets.

Never understood why they drafted him in the 2nd

Apparently Left Tackle Brandon Albert has decided to report to the Jaguars. Though it is unlikely the team will welcome him and have moved on and it will be interesting to see what comes of it.

I mean other than cut him what exactly can they do? They cannot stop a player who is under contract from reporting. Can they?

I remember when Brandon Albert was entering the draft. He just never had the career I anticipated him to have. He never really became a top LT like I thought he would have back then.

The Patriots just purchased two 767s.

Very smart move on Krafts behalf. Planes cost 4m to charter 10 round trip flights per season.

To purchase the 767s it cost 10m with all first class seating and the customization. Smart move they will have other teams not far behind.

I am surprised it has taken this long.

That's exactly what I told someone today. Although prices have supposedly risen tremendously the last few years.

Dan Snyder will probably try and outdo him and purchase a Concord.

The 49ers released Jeremy Zuttah.
haha - if you guys read the transcript of his radio interview (i found out about it on LFW) his comments seem pretty scathing of zuttah in a way...

“Nine out of 10 analysts would say the [offensive line] is our weak spot, and it is, but we really like our offensive line coach. We think he’s doing a good job with some of these guys. And things will shake out. We have a month to go and some of these guys are going to emerge and we’re going to be watching every other preseason game to see who they try to sneak on their practice squad. They do it to us. We do it to them.” Added Flacco: “I think the biggest thing is that we’ve gotten rid of Jeremy Zuttah and just replacing him.”

also just want to check but wouldnt that make it the 2nd year in a row that the 49ers have traded for one of our center's for draft capital and ended up booting them to the curb afterwards...

we sell the 49ers a lot of trash
