Around the NFL: News and Rumors

Seems business is picking up in the Mack trade market. Also Earl Thomas may not be a Seahawk much longer as teams are inquiring about him. Tomorrow may be a busy day in the trade market.

Word on the street is Mark Davis is against trading Mack, while Gruden is all for it. Gruden wants to use the money for Mack on multiple players to shore up holes on the defense.

I somewhat agree with Gruden on this. Mack is amazing, but at the same time that front seven needs some serious work. Tying a ton of money to a single member of it and not being able to fill it out with solid players can hurt them in the long run.

I'm really happy the Ravens have managed to keep Suggs around without having a gigantic, team hurting contract.

Rapsheet going one further... "Before the end of the day, the Bears are expected to negotiate a long-term deal with Khalil Mack that should eclipse the deal for Aaron Donald. Either way, Chicago just made a huge move."

this is moving fast
and all the other clubs just seemed to get out of chicago's way

Bears overpaid. No player is worth 2 first round picks and all that money unless it's a really, really good quarterback we're talking about.

Well, they already believe they have their really, really good quarterback, so why not grab one of the top 5 defensive players in the league? We have to remember he was a first team All-Pro OLB and a second team All-Pro DE in the same year. He's someone you build a defense around and scheme an offense around.

if last year, and their FA additions, AND their excellent draft, are any indication, then the bears just became a real scary contender in the NFC.

i think this is an amazing move. this is the modern NFL, there is one way to build a juggernaut anymore, and thats sell the farm for a loaded team while your qb is on a rookie contract.

Do you want to trade Humphrey and Hurst for Mack. It was also reported that Davis didn't have enough cash because to pay the signing bonus the money has to be put in escrow immediately. Relocation fees are killing the raiders now

So the Bears front is now: Floyd, roquan, trevathan, Mack, Bullard, Goldman, hicks. With Amos, amukamara, fuller and Eddie Jackson in the secondary. They just got scary. They’re also loaded on skill positions.

If they can land some OL picks on day 2 next year they will end up in the super bowl

Best part of this is Mack is out of the AFC

Exactly why the Rams are loading up now, it's what the Seahawks did. They got by on the cheap contracts and their dynasty got killed with everyone wanting to be paid. Plus paying the QB premium for Wilson.
