Around the NFL: News and Rumors

Should I say it? I feel like it would be kinda pointless but still...
Honestly don't know where you're going with this, but go right ahead lol. In all seriousness, there's no way Hunt will remain unemployed especially since a team was recently revealed to be dumb enough to sign a player who's been in multiple incidents of domestic violence.

Goodell should be asked to step down. Someone needs to call for his head
Agreed. Now, wasn't there some news a while ago about him hiring a few women to be part of some domestic violence committee or whatever? Where have they been in this situation? That I'd like answers to.

Exactly why I brought it up on the last page about how this is Ray Rice all over again. Thing is, teams will over look this stuff if the talent is there which is why the Redskins claimed Foster and the 49ers took him in the first round despite the off the field issues. Now just looking at the standings, obviously I would think a team who is in playoff contention could take a chance on him on the waiver wire.

Also anyone else find it odd that this is the second time the NFL couldn't obtain video but yet TMZ did? Read on Schefter's Twitter that the NFL made "multiple attempts" to obtain said video but was told by a hotel rep that it was corporate policy only to turn video over to law enforcement. In which they could not turn it over to the NFL, but somehow TMZ = Law Enforcement? I understand the whole "corporate policy" thing but the NFL is his employer and it would be nice for said employer to review a video like this when it comes to domestic violence.

Money talks and TMZ was willing to cough it up

Just watched the Kareem Hunt video. The woman was provoking him but that does not matter, he should have walked away. That kick at the end of it, to the woman, was icing on the cake that he needed to be released.

Lol how is this ray rice all over again? This shouldnt even be compared to ray rice.. ray rice situation was comprable to a UFC match and for that you have to treat his situation far different

I agree, he should have been gone already. It is cringeworthy during the draft when he almost gets booed off the stage by the fans in attendance.
this is a hard job.. especially with the emergence of social media.. i think he is handling it better than anyone else could tbh

I am not sure I agree. Yes, Ray Rice’s video was really bad, but Ray Rice did not have a few people to hold him back. Kareem Hunt had a few guys present and they still couldn’t stop him from assaulting her. This could have been pretty ugly if others were not present.

You think that girl was hurt at all when she was crashed into by that dude. Who caused that? She was still down and looking dazed and then he gave her a cheap shot of a kick while she was down. How you defending this guy is beyond me.

Are you able to predict what could have happened if he wasn't held back.

And with regards to this situation and in response to everyone who thinks Hunt is being treated harshly I have this to say...

Why are you defending him for not knocking her out... he shouldnt be rewarded with lesser punishment just because he happened to have people around him to restrain him and even then he went through someone else to literally knock her down and tried to go after her multiple times...

ray rice doesnt have to be the bar for something to be unacceptable behaviour - there's almost never any reason for violence of any kind to be any kinds of acceptable to anyone...

Ray Rice shouldnt be in the league
Kareem Hunt shouldnt be in the league
Joe Mixon shouldnt be in the league
Adrian Peterson shouldnt be in the league
Tyreek Hill shouldnt be in the league
Greg Hardy shouldnt be in the league
and more...

it doesnt matter how "severe" the incident was - the behaviour itself is unacceptable - its not like there's a rolling scale of tolerable violence towards women (or anyone) where if you're below the bar you're fine - it doesnt matter that kareem hunt "only" pushed her (and forcefully knocked her down with another man and kicked her when she was down), the fact he did any of it is enough

I really don't know if the Chiefs have the cap space, but I was thinking the same thing. Holy shit would that be scary to watch if Bell comes back into football shape.
it certainly would be scary. I didn’t check spotrac to see if they had the necessary cap space, it was just a thought,
