Around the NFL: News and Rumors

$100 M in cap space? Good God.

like the browns have so much cap space that they could frontload a franchise qb deal if they wanted (not that they would with salary cap increases every year and the new CBA not far off now) but its insane that they could pay a qb a shit ton of money upfront and essentially have them play for nothing for subsequent years lol

not realistic but maybe this is why the browns always suck - they just get so crazy with money possibilities that they never do the sensible thing

My bet is they sign Alex Smith for 3rd round pick (Chiefs are desperate for some cap room) and draft Allen or Mayfield at #1, whomever they like more.

Bills C Eric Wood is retiring from the NFL but he will remain on the Bills roster until at least the June 1st deadline. If the Bills place him on the Reserved/Retired list, his cap hit increases and the Bills do not have any cap space.

Wood remains under contract through 2019 after he signed a two-year extension last August. His $4.8 million base salary in 2018 is guaranteed for injury, and he would count about $10 million against the Bills' salary cap next season if he is placed on the retired list or released. He would have counted about $8 million had he remained playing.

Or did he get an offer he couldn't turn down.

He seems to be good friends with the head coach and also his son is gonna be coaching there too now it seems

Feels a bit like the whole kubiak thing (he gets offered the one job he can’t refuse)

According to one journalist on Twitter (can't remember his name), Pees was mentioning retirement last July. I don't see why we'd force him out considering we're so hooked on avoiding change whenever possible. We kept Marty after all.

Pees found out "spending time with his wife..........." wasn't all it was cracked up to be. lol

Guessing him being lured back has everything to do with being given the opportunity to work with his son.

I genuinely think it will be the funniest thing ever if he does not blow that many fourth quarter leads next season.

Still convinced he wasn't as much of the problem as a few members thought. He did things that pissed me off.. But still.

Never understood why Dean got the blame for the collapses, but no credit for the excellence. At the end of the day it's all about player execution.

i saw the rumours but i assumed they would blow over...
not sure how to feel about it lol... is he just doing his friend a solid, did we force him out or was this just a way for him to get away from this organisation?
His son was hired by the titans, that could've played a part, I think he was forced out of Baltimore and he was just calling it quits but vrabel hiring his son, he probably got a call and he just couldn't refuse.

Glad he's gone but wish him luck, he's the smartest dumbest football mind maybe ever. He's brilliant until he isnt
