Thats my assumption too. He diva'd his way out of a big contract. At this point, we're just hoping he cancels out a signing and we get a 5th round comp.
In any case, its a big middle finger to a guy who was probably hoping to clear waivers and get picked up by another playoff team for 1 last chance of showcasing his "talents" for free agency. Now he can book his cancun ticket early
He has to sign a qualifying contract to cancel out another deal though. I struggle to see that being possible.
I do agree that it’s a shot in case some team as dumb but it’s on the highly unlikely side for me.

Dramatically different prices and assumed-contract ranges for those two. Not saying Jaire isn't worth at least that much, but the reason we offered that is because we would have gotten Lattimore for dirt fucking cheap for half a season. Jaire isn't going to be cheap contractually.
I'm wondering if we will extend Derrick Henry 1 more year to spread out his cap hit.
Correct and 2025 would be for 18m and 2026 the cap hit would be 18.5m vs Jaire Alexander's cap hits of 25m and 27m. We need to worry about extending Hamilton and Linderbaum before we look at signing any big time free agents.
I'd suggest some depth signing and 2nd tier free agents, but no big time free agents.
