If you all look at it the multiple year contracts we've given to Wolfe, Bowser and Zeigler are backloaded but not heavily tilted but to sign Golliday it would've been and we got Lamar and Andrews to sign. We would start entering cap hell again.

Had to go look at OTC and seen some very interesting things. Right now Mahomes has a low 7 mil hit with guys like Hill, Clark. C Jones making massive amounts but cuttable next year when Mahomes hits a 35 mil hit. Yikes!! Kelce's is also a very interesting contract where he's cuttable but with an extreme amount of space for restructures since there's no prorated signing bonus after this year. A whole different strategy and to read w/o doing some serious digging but really interesting.

quibble with roman all you want - but he's not running the front office and acquiring talent lol

I would have loved Golladay.

But I tend to agree the Ravens don’t need a #1. What I think they need is more NFL caliber receivers, right now they don’t have it. Add a vet, maybe you draft Bateman or Marshall. I like the looks of the WR room a lot more.

I’m not huge on Watkins, but I’ve kinda felt for a while he would be the guy the Ravens land. We’ll see. At least it gives Lamar a credible 2nd receiver.

The biggest thing we need to see from the Ravens next year is a more efficient passing game. They aren’t PIT, Lamar isn’t gonna be throwing it 50 times 15-25 times is where the Ravens want it to be. If they can be efficient, the rest of the league needs to look out. Zeitler at RG should help with that

Would Golladay have been worth the 18 million per year?

No. Paying $18M a year to a player who only played 5 games last season and since 2017 has only played all 16 games one season. Golladay was a perfect fit for a one year deal to prove he can stay healthy, giving him so much is just questionable.

There's only like five or six true number 1 WRs in the entire league, and most don't hit FA.

What the Ravens need is like three legit NFL calibre WRs. They don't have to be world beaters, they just have to be guys that'll run their routes and make the damn catch. Hollywood is the only starting calibre NFL WR we have right now.

So for now, even if he is a bandaid solution, I would happily take Watkins. He has shown that he belongs in the starting lineup, and he's made big plays in big games. Watkins, Hollywood, and a rookie, plus a good passing game specialist could give us an efficient passing offense that doesn't vanish at playoff time.

I hear you, and I feel your pain, brother. Trust me! Also, the chiefs might be in win now, but they will be absolutely financially FUCKED in a few years, and with all of the problems the Ravens have faced in the post season as of late, I don’t think Kenny Golladay instantly moves the needle, and at 18m per? No thanks. If he was worth the 18m, I’d be all for it. I think WR is becoming the priority in the 1st round, and I’m okay with that as long as it’s Bateman or Marshall. I hope EDC sees the urgency.

Lost in all this sadness is the fact more players will become available as teams trim down their rosters. Trades and a strong draft are certainly in the cards for us
