Signings, Cuts, Trades

The other thing that's kind of interesting about this move is that Campbell isn't a classic edge - we already have quite a lot of scheme flexibility but have always been rigidly a 2-gapping team on the DL , i wonder if this signifies a change or at least the extension of that schematic flexibility all the way to the DL on the defence in a way we havent really done before

the kind of deal i thought might happen - add a year, lower the avg/yr but give him a ton of guaranteed money including loads up front to sweeten

Was hoping for a 3rd to knock it a little lower this year, but still should be fine. Could see the cap hit coming in around $10M with those numbers.

yeah we dont know how much of that guaranteed money is signing bonus vs base salary so numbers in year 1 tbd obviously - tbh given his age i think 2 years is going to be a better idea than 3 - my guess is that this is a pretty flat deal because you dont want the cap hit to balloon in year 2 given how much guaranteed money is involved

Or maybe not. Graziano reporting that he'll be tied to Baltimore through 2022, so would imagine the 2/$27M is added to the 1/$15M he's already got. 3/$42M should help us knock that down considerably.

yep, just saw this. Good news

Still not sure if this is a 2 yr deal worth 27m with 20m guaranteed or if it's an extension

yeah just saw this from mcfarland saying the same

would make it 3/42 as you said and suddenly the 20m guaranteed is across 3 years which lowers the risk in year 3 anyway

How does that leave us for cap once draft picks etc are factored in?

Going to guess it's a 2 year deal shaped as 3, basically. Not sure how risky they're willing to get, but obviously year 1 base salary is guaranteed. Wouldn't be shocked if they guarantee a small portion of year 2 as well, in order to make sure year 3 is easy to get out of. Could see a scenario where the signing bonus is something like $15M. $3M guaranteed base salary this year and maybe $2M or so next year to take those guarantees to $20M.

Patrick queen is still sitting neck and neck with Denzel Mims at 28 for me, if neither player is available I honestly could pass and trade back because there really isn’t a player I’d want otherwise unless someone unexpectedly falls.

Round 2 I like willie gay jr and Troy dye and Malik Harrison, but I feel like at our spot might be a bit of a reach for them
Dang you have Mims at 28? I always respect your draft analysis, but you don't think he's a little raw? Seems like a Perriman pick for me at that point, but I don't know jack shit. Doesn't have drop issues?

hard to say until we see the breakdown of signing bonus vs base salary etc. but we're likely not going to have basically anything meaningful left

my guess is carr gets cut to save another 6m but we still with draft picks factored in etc. wont have a huge amount of flexibility albeit we are now operating with rule of 51 which lessens the impact to some degree

At this point, I have no idea. Typically pretty good with the cap stuff but there have been a lot of changes today obviously.

dude mims would be a steal for me at 28 - i think he's potentially WR 2 in the class lol - i've got him currently fluctuating between 8th and 13th in the draft class on the big board

so at 28 on my board would be a major steal

had hollywood at 11th last year on the board
