Signings, Cuts, Trades

See one post above. Probably not is the answer. Concessions need to be made somewhere. I agree with Rossi that if you extend Smith, you're probably moving on from Peters. I kinda think I'd like to keep Peters in that situation. Idk just my opinion though

it's certainly fair
MP may well be cheaper and may well do more for this defence as it's currently structured given how much we clearly want to get DBs on the field

but idk, Roquan's a coming-into-his-prime superstar at LB who can do things that only 3-5 other players in the entire NFL can do which creates so many opportunities for you schematically vs MP who's a stud but is also coming off injury and heading into his 30s in the new year

i'd happily re-sign MP, don't get me wrong, just pretty confident that i'd take Roquan over him for the big contract type of deal

Yeah you know how we used to say for a while we couldn't hit on second rounders? Well I think Ozzie passed that over to Decosta but with 3rd rounders.

Ferguson
Boykin
Duvernay
Cleveland
Others

Get the man away from the 3rd round and use it to get Roquan or some other vet that can help this team
Idgaf that people say ozzie was still here in 18, Eric made the board, the picks, the trades, ozzie just made the phone calls to tell the players they were coming to Baltimore, in that case, Eric also drafted mark andrews and Orlando brown, along with madubuike, Stephens, and Travis jones in the third.

id get being tough on him if he'd come in from somewhere else or he'd been working on the contract/cap side of the building but he's had his blueprints all over the draft for ages - the idea that he should be solely judged on 2019-2021 draft picks so far is absurd especially after he was instrumental in that seismically important draft in 2018

While Duvernay is not a star he's definitely not a dud. You could do worse than an all-pro returner in the third round.

Yeah idk. You're not wrong but you should be hoping for more out of 3rd round picks. Yes Duvernay has pretty good averages on both kicks and punts as evidenced by the probowl nod, he's not routinely or even semi routinely making huge plays that change the course of a game. He's just super solid.

Maybe he would have more of those huge plays if we were still using the old kickoff rules. Maybe those days are over for everyone. Either way, you'd still hope for more out of a 3rd rounder. But you're right he's not a dud or a bust. Just a very low end receiver and a very very solid returner.

First cut down day is on Tuesday. Need 5 off the roster. Curious who we end up picking. Not that we don't have 5 that we could easily get rid of but we just need bodies at some positions right now.

My guesses based on usage in game 1:
Brett Hundley
Corey Clement
Bailey Gaither (waived/injured)
Diego Fagot
Denzel Williams
