Signings, Cuts, Trades

I don't know that he would be anything other than like an emergency Safety, which like Stephens could do that.
And while he has more experience than others, not sure which CB on the roster he takes their place over. He'd be no better than 5th behind Marlon, Stephens, Darby and RYS, and that's assuming we count Hamilton as a Safety instead of as a Nickel.

And when healthy, not sure he'd be preferred over Pepe or JAD either.

I think its pretty clear that the Ravens actually like their Corners. Doesn't mean they won't try to get a better one, but I think they'd be targeting somebody who's an upgrade over at least Darby and RYS, and maybe even an upgrade over Stephens.
I think it truly depends on how we were to use him. He's best as a slot CB and his best years were in Los Angeles when he played for the Chargers. I don't think it would hurt to put him on the PS and if Maulet went down with an injury he would be an option. Not the only one, but an option. He also had a pretty good season last year and he did play a substantial amount of both slot and outside corner. It's true, it seems as though we do like our corners, but we should take a look at King.

Know it's probably too early to be looking this far ahead, but I'm gonna do it anyways. Our in house FA class has gone from a large number of who really cares to guys that are offering major contributions so far.

QB Tyler Huntley
QB Josh Johnson
RB JK Dobbins
RB Gus Edwards
WR Nelson Agholor
WR Odell Beckham
WR Devin Duvernay
OL Sam Mustipher
OL John Simpson
OL Kevin Zeitler
DL Justin Madubuike
DL Michael Pierce
DL Brent Urban
ED Jadeveon Clowney
ED Kyle Van Noy
LB Malik Harrison
LB Del'Shawn Phillips
LB Patrick Queen
CB Ronald Darby
CB Arthur Maulet
CB Kevon Seymour
CB Rock Ya-Sin
S Geno Stone
S Daryl Worley
LS Tyler Ott

A good number there that could return at or near the minimum of course, but still looking at a heavy roster turnover next year. Definitely going to be some tough decisions.

That's a freightening list. I said it the other day, this team is probably on a downward trajectory following this year. Gotta try and win it all this season.

It certainly adds some credence to the idea when you actually take a look at the list. We're generally pretty good about finding veteran contributors later in the process so it's not all doom and gloom come March, but there are certainly more names here that would hurt to see in another uniform compared to the last few years.

Apart from OBJ's, void years are pretty cheap (Stone, Zeitler, Gus, Ya-Sin, Agholor, Pierce)

Yeah I mean the draft class is gonna have to play right away. Some guys are gonna need to come back. And we're gonna need KVN level play out of some older vets.

I'm optimistic. A few weeks ago half that list would have been met with shrugs, a lot of them were vet min players and the Ravens have always been good at finding depth.

Then a few of the big money losses are looking less painful than they did before the season. eg Beckham, Zeitler, Jk and Gus don't look like such massive losses anymore

Oh.
If we don't extend them, do these numbers count against dead cap?
Those numbers are on the cap anyway, whether we sign them or not, but there's nothing to stop us adding void years onto future contacts to make more space. Unless there's another pandemic the music never stops and you should be able to push some money forward more or less indefinitely.

It's more of you need starter level players at a ton of positions

The Chiefs are trading for their former WR Mecole Hardman who signed a one year deal with the Jets.

I still remember the days people thought he was all great and shit… but thats when everyone was hating on mahommes, now we just accept the fact he better than everyone else
