The General Front 7 Thread

Maybe he will focus on some offensive weapons before he retires. :crying:
That will start coming this year. The last two were good to really good defensive drafts. This year has some really good offensive talent in the draft and I believe we will pounce.

We have actually 5 starters (Stanley, Judon, Tavon, Henry, Pierce) and 3 who are pushing for a starting job (Dixon, Canady, Lewis). Crazy.

i mean lets be honest - dixon was the starter and so was lewis until they got injured... and canady was tavon's replacement when he got injured lol
both correa and kaufusi have technically been starters but correa was quite obviously beat out by onwuasor and kaufusi was outplayed by wormley so quickly that he was benched after like 5 snaps

yes 2016 was an incredible draft. 2017 was pretty darn good as well.
I think, as opposed to 2016, 2017 was more based on potential and future. 2016 had a lot of players that were ready to start right away, and while it's true for Wormley and Siragusa, and to a certain extent Tim Williams, Marlon and Tyus are clearly guys that can live by their athleticism in year one but will have to need some seasoning to reach the impact we want them to have. That is to say, jury is still out for me but right now everything is going as planned.

Yes I agree. These two drafts imo, along with Pierce as an udfa could go a long way in solidifying this defense for years. Now we need to start working on the offense.

exactly - we're guaranteed never going to be a bad defence for the next few years with all these pieces because we have playmakers at most positions set

I saw an article on Baltimore Beatdown that said that our biggest mistake of the off-season was not paying Wagner over Williams and that our offensive failures are primarily on that, LOL.

That was a common theme here, I think we all know how important Brandon is now

I talked myself into liking the correa pick, but seeing now all of his problems in college are now problems in the NFL and he's made zero improvements, im just scratching my head wondering why the hell we picked him. It will never make sense to me. I thought he would have progressed and with some mental leaps he could be special but it's obvious that those leaps might not come, so right now it's like wtf were you looking for with that pick to pass on whitehair and Shepard for him

with the way our 4th round went we might as well have just kept trading back and trading back - we might have been able to own most of the picks in the 4th round if we kept trading back with kaufusi and correa's spots lol
