WR/RB Thread

Williams is much quicker than he looks, he's shown that from time to time. He also seems to do a good job breaking tackles when he has the chance. I honestly feel like the young TE's aren't being used enough.

I like Williams and, if he finally lives up to his 2nd-round pick status, he could turn out to be a great player for us, but if we have the option to pick up another TE in the draft then I think we should do it. At the very least, Waller and/or Gilmore won't be back next season, in all likelihood, which would free up a spot.

Also, I feel like we would be using the TEs more in the passing game if they actually showed enough to warrant it. Flacco LOVES throwing to TEs so if they're not being utilized in the passing game then that says a lot, IMO.

I think we'll keep Mayle too because of his special teams work. He's shown his speed on ST too but his hands looked awful in preseason. If he could learn to catch he could become a nice player.

this off season i prefer to go hard after allen robinson or jarvis landry and then go after and sign either paul richardson, eric decker or kendall wright. draft a receiver like dj moore in the 3rd and hopefully chris moore continues to develop and than we are in business on offense. hopefully collins was not a one hit wonder especially when he gets a contract

well im pretty sure he'll have to be a 3 hit wonder to get paid because he's only had 2 years in the league

People talk about getting Allen Robinson like no team in the league will be interested. You really think teams like the 49ers are quietly going to let him pass in front of them and not get him because he tore an ACL?

im still not convinced he hits free agency at all...

Yeah that was "if he hits the market" but there like 20% chances he will.

That wasn’t really aimed at you (only quoted you because you were the most recent person to say it) - it was more aimed at the people who consistently talk about him being available and while it would be great if he was I’m not sure he is

I know I know, didn't take it personnal lol

I like this guy a lot now. This is the attitude you need

i just went back to the tape - he underperformed in 2016 but showed decent understanding in his routes and has really nice catching technique when he doesnt have to attack the ball i.e. he's a clean catcher but im not sure how good he is contested - i also worry that a lot of the time i see him off the LOS - i wonder if that's because he gets jammed too easily - i havent seen him vs press so i wonder how he does

I remember watching his college film when he played reciever at washington st. I always thought he had really good run after catch ability, never would have thought he would switch to TE

saw some camp highlights of Keenan Reynolds and he's looking a lot more comfortable as a wr. Plucking the ball, turning his head with good timing, he had moments where he struggled to catch and turn upfield smoothly, but the athleticism is apparent.

Hope he keeps up the hard work, even in camp videos he looked horrid a year ago
This is kinda sad..was hoping Reynolds would work out. Forgot about him until just now. Is he out of the league now or what?

So I was bummed about danny woodhead and wasnt sure we'd necessarily pick someone in the draft so I went back to Alex Collins tape - I forgot how epic it was to watch him at times especially given how little time he had with the ravens to begin the year

if tom hammock gets a full offseason with him and they work on his blitz pickup and pass blocking he's gonna be able to threaten the field for more snaps which helps get his explosive abilities on the field for us which is beneficial

and if we can add some route running diversification to his skillset outside of just check downs, outs and screens and he really starts using his short-area burst and cutting ability without the ball in his hands he could well find himself becoming a legitimate threat in both phases

my one concern is that he doesnt spend a huge time gaining between the tackles but my hope is that an improved interior oline (i.e. yanda back + hopefully some other improvements) and the holes will open up for him to exploit because his major strength is his quick acceleration and change of direction (and power) which means that the faster we get him moving upfield the more consistent his positive gains are gonna be which opens up more space in other facets of the offence

it was also interesting to note just how well collins meshed with roman's scheme and particularly nick boyle and maxx williams - so many medium gainers became huge gainers because of the tight ends coming across the line to spring him open even further
