WR/RB Thread

To me it just doesn't make any sense, he did a post game interview and seemed completely fine and the injury was not mentioned. Then it was announced a thumb injury would keep him out FIVE PLUS months?? A thumb injury let me repeat. There was no coverage on this, just ALEX LEWIS HURT, oh yea Tim White is done also. I agree the injury wasnt made up, but I do think he will be out for atleast 6 weeks.

It was a post-game interview so my guess would be that White himself didn't think the injury was all that serious at the time and this was probably before he was able to get it checked out. I attribute the lack of coverage due to the fact that he's an undrafted player and never showed any signs of his thumb being hurt on or off the field.

I could be wrong here but didn't the NFL change the rule this year where you don't have to label someone with that tag but can instead activate two of your IR guys? I could've sworn that was a thing.

Edit: I just went to look and I can't find that. Perhaps that was a rumor or something. I know they approved not requiring a cut down to 75 and they approved two guys to return from IR

you are correct - you no longer need to designate and can activate 2 players through the season

I had forgotten they changed the rule. Good we may need it
it's interesting because canady is probably nailed on for one of those spots but in previous years we'd have had to designate him before the season and have to live with the consequences of any mid-season injuries whereas now we can do both and we dont have to premeditate either - its nice that the rule doesnt penalise teams with lots of injuries anymore

The biggest issue is whether its 6 weeks or 5 months is semantics at this point, bc in order to be eligible to return hes gotta make the initial 53.

They aint doin that and risking another quality player they want doesnt make it through waivers for an UDFA WR that, while theyve been some big flashes, has only flashed for a couple weeks.

Yes, that has changed. But for any player to be eligible to return they have to make the initial 53 man roster. Which is why bubble players that get injured during preseason are unlikely targets for it.

Much more likely an in-season injury, or player that was in line for a starting role that could return during the season ends up with it.

If the Ravens give up anytging higher than a 4th (and even that I am iffy on) then they got ripped off.

I just saw this article, its the first I heard of it. Has anyone heard anything on this? Thoughts?

it's intriguing and it makes sense for both sides except the reason ingram never goes over 1000 yards (except last year) is because he's injury prone - i cant see us giving up anything like the 2nd/3rd round pick the saints want for him given our problem with injuries at the position

Not big on this, I actually like Terrence west just as much if not more than Ingram. They bring the same skill set and west has more durability.

We need a goddamn LG

Watching the preseason I noticed how most teams seem to have better running back options than us. If we are serious about running the ball we could do with more options. I like West well enough but if he goes down I don't think Allen plays quite fast enough to replace him on early downs. Ingram would be an upgrade.
As to trading a second round pick? We may as well, the second round is usually a disaster for us. Bowser excepted, I hope.

A second round pick for an average, injury prone, 27 year old rb? Fucc out my face wit that shit

Injury prone? Sign him up. He will fit right in.

Yeah I don't understand why they are looking for another RB, when the ones we currently have are decent enough and could be more effective with a better OL, which is what they should be focusing making a trade for.

It's not a second round pick. It's a Ravens second round pick which, recently, equals nothing at all.

Although, I was actually joking. His salary is quite high so a fifth or sixth is as high as we should go.

Jesus, if we traded for Ingram I would lose my shit. I don't want to do this but I'd rather ship the same pick to them for AP and go that route.

You'd really have to be mental to even ask the Ravens for a two.......or a three.
I also think a four is pushing it.
