100% - although i might change safety to defensive back generally - depending on what's happening with jimmy and averett next offseason we might want to invest in another young corner (especially with peters and tavon only having a year left on their deals after this year too)

Was originally going to say db for same reasons. It's like the team has said never again after 2014. Also with the way the league is more pass heavy would make sense to bring guys in and groom them.

Sometimes I log in here and you guys are debating some really interesting football analysis and it's a lot of fun catching up the few pages I'm behind on.

Other times you're beating a dead horse to a bloody pulp over some ridiculous semantics argument. Seriously, are we actually arguing whether sport technically exists if no-one watches it in here?!

but if a Lamar Jackson falls over in a forest but there’s no one there to see it, did he really fall at all?

You say “you guys” but in reality it’s one guy doing that specific thing lol

and wink’s scheme is far more reliant on secondary than edge rush - again the opposite of that 2014 defence which was bend don’t break and possibly the best edge pass rushing team we’ve had

but I’ve got no issue just constantly adding DBs to the room - you might get Iman Marshall but you also might get tavon young or chuck Clark or deshon Elliott or Anthony averett etc

Would be nice to have a pass rush and coverage. Think this year we see a lot more pressure than recent years.
I think this is gonna be a defensively led team. Campbell, queen, and madubuike are gonna go tf off, Oweh and hayes are gonna look very good and our front is gonna be different.

I think we’re gonna have one of the great ravens defenses this year, like the 06, 08, 11 units.

how do you come from the ravens given the way we’ve successfully weaponised analytics especially with regards to 4th downs and come out with this view

biggest blessing of the offseason was the texans hiring him - can’t believe we might have passed up on the opportunity to bring in Keith Williams and tee Martin for David Culley

Texans: *3 for 3* on 4th and short conversions

Also Texans: 4th and short on opponents' 38 yd line.

Culley potentially:

i dnt really understand the analytics thing when it comes to 4th down, 2pt conversion and all that other crap.. people make it seem like its some deep dive into it but that shit is really just common sense tbh and how the game is going.

Shhh… if it makes them feel smarter and better about themselves, let them have their fancy words! :D

Because punting on 4th down unless you NEED to go for it was always tradition, analytics showed that going for it all throughout the game in favorable situations adds up and the final result is NOT needing to go for it, because you’ve went for it and converted 2-3 more times and now have many more points on the scoreboard and put the game out of reach early.

I certainly wouldn't call it a debate. A debate implies that both sides are making logical arguments...

I had no idea who Ty’Son Williams was until I watched the highlights of the game. Dude looks good. Any chance he takes Justice’s spot if he keeps it up the rest of the preseason?

Man I’d be all for Ty’Son taking his spot… he would be the replacement for 2019 Mark Ingram in terms of ability in my mind, not the 2020 washed up one. Seeing him in action being a damn good back and seeing Justice in action with Justice playing a juggling act with a pass (which supposedly is his thing in addition to ST) makes me fully want Williams on this team over him

And to be completely honest and not to change the subject, I don’t understand whatsoever the logic is behind keeping an ST player over a player who has better overall talent. ST defenders are honestly a dime a dozen, unless the player is a legend talent like Matt Slater. We already have good ST defenders so this is a moot point altogether. But I’m keeping a better talent overall as a rookie over a guy who is beyond his second year in the league 24/7

This has been a tough 18 months and not because of Covid. I've mentioned that we lost our 16 and 13 1/2 year old Shih Tzu's Kookie and Lila. Kookie went over the rainbow bridge February 5th 2020, while we had to say good bye to Lila on June 14th.

Prior to saying goodbye to Kookie we found a breeder in Front Royal, Va and were able to bring home an all black shih tzu on March 26th 2020. With Lila passing a couple months ago we wanted to bring home a playmate for Diva. Well two weeks ago on August 2nd that puppy was born. Well this puppy is Diva's actual first cousin. He ended up being the smallest in the litter (not runt, but smallest) and the four other puppies crushed him yesterday. We are now being told that the puppy isn't going to make it or could have a tough road ahead. The breeder is putting us at the top of the list on the next litter, which will be later in the year (different dog).

He looks like it is going to pass. Having to say goodbye to 1 dog is bad enough, but 3 dogs is ridiculous.

They shouldnt have needed analytics to tell them that though is what im saying

I find your definition of taunting strange then, like you’ve been in the heat of a competitive contact sport, and you are offended by a finger wag in that context?
I just saw that penalty they gave colts guy and wow.. they dnt understand that its also sort of a momentum thing for the players also. Taunting gives players a lil boost in their confidence after making good plays
