The Random Thought Thread

Didn’t have a grade or a full set of notes on him but had a couple of notes from watching Iowa:

- Good foot-fire and quickness - does too much at the LoS
- flexes out as a receiver and alignment versatile but not likely a good pass pro player
- can miss reads and doesn’t have consistently good cision
- doesn’t break tackles - but can make defenders look silly in space downfield with his spin move

That’s all I had
Have you seen any of him with GB this preseason? I looked up the NFL.com draft report on him and it's almost exactly what you wrote above. I think there's definitely stuff to improve in his game like you mentioned, but he's looked so good with GB.

Like they say he's of average athleticism, but if you saw him even just last night, he's got crazy burst and super elusive. In a quick glance of some of his highlights, he definitely shows the speed to break off home run plays.

Also the reports in the incident were that Lael Collins started it and was also seen swinging helmets.

The Bengals reddit is so funny. They want to victimize AD but then they found it LC was doing the same thing so they came to the conclusion it's OK to swing helmets hahaha

In this case, it can be called self defense as to what Donald did

Yet another example of assault going unpunished because of the star player syndrome.

If we are comparing it to ET who was also a star player, he was doing a lot more than just a punch to the face. He was having plenty of issues.

I can see the similarity but there are differences.

if watson wouldve kept the 6 game suspension… and his first game back vs us wouldve been the browns 1st win… i think most ravens fans wouldve cried and complained lol.

I think it would have been the easiest game on the schedule. The first real NFL game in 2 years for a player on a new team in a new offense... ya sign me up for being that team.

Matt Araiza is not playing tonight for the Bills, I imagine he's getting cut tomorrow. Meanwhile... Sam Darnold is booming punts for the Panthers in warm ups lol.

Hopefully in jail soon after

Got my USC QBs mixed up, apparently Matt Barkley is Punting for the Bills tonight and he punted the ball deep with a nice roll to the 8. Remember when Matt Barkley supposed to be the first overall pick in 2013 or whatever it was lol.

not seen any of GB preseason so couldnt tell you

Gotcha! Do you think in general, the Ravens are specifically looking at preseason standout RBs or not really?

i imagine they're looking at everyone at almost every position
i doubt there'll be much available in final cuts at RB that's going to be initially better (obviously) than what we have in Davis, Hill and Badie

also just out of curiosity i just watched the tyler goodson packers preseason 3 tape and looks like he's a bit more decisive cutting and getting upfield but im still not sure i see anything particularly remarkable or impressive outside of that spin move lol - he's got nice burst though

For sure! Yeah he's got that deadly spin move he's been using since Iowa. He's certainly not some complete back at all, but as you said has really good burst. Would really like him on our PS if possible because I think he could develop.

I'm just so afraid of Davis tbh. I can't shake the feeling he's going to be Latavius Murray 2.0 or worse.

we know he's not latavius murray because he breaks tackles and is a factor in the passing game

he's not an attractive option but he is a reasonably reliable guy with value right now - and with JK working back from the injury you've got to think he's not going to be the lead back for long if he ever is

and we're not bare behind davis too - we've got hill and badie who both have burst and athleticism

maybe we'll fish for some backs to have on the PS or maybe we're fine with McCrary
