The Random Thought Thread

Just love it when “experts” say that Flacco’s first contract caused us to lose a bunch of players. Like to see them name really one player that was let go directly as a result of his contract.
And it happens a lot. I don’t like it when they talk about the total contract for any athlete. Look at the details of the contract

Sorry, but we're steamrolling the Browns next week. The scoreboard may only say we will win by 10 or 13, but it will be one of those games that felt like a blowout. They just have no answer for anything we do offensively or defensively.

The Ravens 2 Unknown Opponents for 2019 has been determined. Home Schedule gave us the AFC South team who finished first which was the Texans who will be coming to Baltimore. The Road Schedule gave us the AFC West team who finished first in the Kansas City Chiefs, meaning another trip to KC next season.

The AFC's young qbs are looking great - some new rivalries emerging that will hopefully last a long time

Mahomes in the AFC West
Lamar and Baker in the AFC North
Watson in the AFC South (and Luck isnt even 30 yet)
Darnold and Allen could develop into guys in the AFC East too

Here are a few of my thoughts. I think next week's game will be super tough, but I think it's a grind out win for us. My prediction is unlike today, we won't win with a defensive stop, but rather with an offensive first down. If that happens, and I expect the colts to upset the Texans, we'll be off to Foxborough. I think we upset the patriots in that case. I think it would be easier than the chargers game tbh. I fully expect the chiefs to be in the championship game. There's nothing more that I want to see than Lamar get his chance at revenge and take down mahomes. Don't really care the outcome. I'd like to have Lamar get some post season experience hopefully taking down Brady.

I think with a better OC, next year, Hayden Hurst may look much more like Mark Andrews. I think he's definitely coming along. I just hate Marty

chargers are going to want serious revenge - they were in that game but we dominated them for 3 quarters in their building and they were lucky the score was close - i dont think it plays out that way again

ive been saying this for weeks now but we have to let lamar loose in the passing game

Particularly in the red zone it’s like Marty is scared of him make a mistake. Got to stop playing offense not to lose.

he's been much more involved as the season has got towards the end - and part of it is because he's starting to get those 1st down snaps because he's trusted enough as a run blocker that we have his skills available to us off play action etc.

we've got away with it but that juju will run out if we dont start playing to win - which is weird because harbs is willing to trust the analytics and go for it early in the game in our own half on 4th down but Marty's willing to shut half the offence down when we get inside the 10
