I like that. Now just to get him some passes, instead of poor Willie mostly blocking. We just re-signed Snead to a one year deal worth 6 million, per Schefter

Yea I love Snead. He bounces off tackles and is pretty reliableI like that. Now just to get him some passes, instead of poor Willie mostly blocking.
Good, now fucking use him. 2nd best receiver on the roster, most reliable clutch target on the team, and a refined vet.We just re-signed Snead to a one year deal worth 6 million, per Schefter
No, this is additional year, extension. Fully guaranteed.Does this open up cap space by the way?
Ugh that’s what I thoughtNo, this is additional year, extension. Fully guaranteed.

That should mean we plan on getting him more involved, right?we sure it doesnt shift any of his base salary into signing bonus for next year?
i have no idea on the structure of the contract - just speculating - it being a 1 year extension doesnt necessarily mean that it doesnt change his cap hit this year
his cap hit this year is 7.2m apparently - of which 3m is base salary (some of which will have been paid already) - there's scope for us to create cap space depending on the structure of the deal if that's what we intended to do (e.g. if we're making room)
alternatively its just a really nice signing for a guy who deserved it - he gets a pay rise and some job security with the guarantees, we get a receiver for a very reasonable amount in the current market who we know we like in our system
Actually, you might be right. Sounds like just enough to pay the portion of Beasly's salary that Falcons won't coverwe sure it doesnt shift any of his base salary into signing bonus for next year?

I guess I should clarify that I meant getting him more targets, but this makes sense. Just watching the games live it always seemed like he could've been thrown to more. The context helps ease the disappointment a bit.he's not exactly uninvolved - has played the most snaps of all our receivers and does so in almost every game
he's averaging just over 3 targets a game and just over 2 catches a game which obviously isnt what youd want but we also have more talent in the passing game around him than last year when he was by far the best option
slightly better perspective in terms of targets - he's been targeted 5 times in 3 separate games, he only had 3 targets against the dolphins (but that game was over at half-time), which leaves 3 games where he's not really targeted - arizona and seattle where he only had 1 target and cleveland where he only had 1 target before he had the 50 yd td in garbage time
so he has games where he's a key part of our offence and he has games where he's not and that's kinda what you get for a player who (now that he's been re-signed) will be making 15m over 3 years with us
he's also been blocking well
and let's not forget that he could have an additional 50 yds and a td if he hadnt hesitated running a route when he was wide open
another important note - we dont throw the ball as much as drew brees and joe flacco do in their respective offences so there's fewer targets to go around but notably, snead has the highest yards per reception of his career by miles so far this year and it would be even better without a couple of mental errors - at his current rate he's looking at about 100yds less than last year but on almost half as many targets and receptions but also while playing a similar number of snaps...
make of that what you will

absolutely correct. Until we see the structure of the contract we won't know. I believe we have found a way to add some cap space, but not sure if that means anything is around the corner.we sure it doesnt shift any of his base salary into signing bonus for next year?

Lol, imagine that. DeCosta would go to Ravens RoH while still active.Wouldn’t like this trade if it’s for Beasley but maybe we can have a Z-Smith situation of our own lol.
