As someone who hasn't seen those movies or knows literally anything about them, what does it mean for Lamar to be calling himself blade? Is he basically admiring that he's a badass mf?
I think he just thew it out there cause blade wears shades and that was probably who he thought of at the time

15-20 yrs from now, there's going to be a huge ceremony at the Ravens stadium. The event? Erection of a Lamar Jackson statue! As the winner of 5 SB titles and 8 SB appearances, he'll be widely considered the G.O.A.T eclipsing Tom Brady's exploits at QB. He'll be the first Qb to pass for over 30,000 yds and run for over 10000 with a record 11 pro bowl selections.

Now I need to sleep to relive this beautiful dream. Good night folks!

That isn't actually true. The contract was set up so they had plenty of money to pay people. Go look at those early cap hits (6m 14m 14m); the problem is they paid all the wrong people. Monroe was a bust, Pitta got injured and no real talent was drafted on O.

Simply put he wasnt earning what he was paid and we were always up against the cap limit.

especially when trestmans offense was more inside zone and Forsett was an outside zone RB.
Forsett was just an average rb in general and yes he had the cutback ability to execute the stretch, and kubiak dials up the stretch like none other, but if he’s getting touched at all, or if he’s being forced to make quick decisions or make tacklers miss, he’s useless.

Anyone with half an eye for football knew this and didn’t wanna give forsett big money, but of course we did anyway

Don’t go come in here and state facts, it screws up peoples fantasies.

When Art brown got here and traning camp was well underway the rumblings were already there in the building from what i heard at the time..which was '' We made a mistake''. He had 0 football IQ, combined with being undersized.

He basically was useless. He didn't even play ST well.

6m 14m and 14m was a gift contract that was more then earned. Between a putrid OLIne ruining 2013, the RR situation combod with Pitta's injury, and then the disaster of 2015 where I am pretty sure the Ravens lost a key player literally every game to injury (that honestly is not a joke and as a note before that started the Ravens were leading the team that won the SB) so it was just sometimes when the team is snakebit. Combine that with a couple awful drafts, no investment on offense (best investment on offense was SS who we made look 10 years younger) and things just went bad.

To put in perspective how bad 2015 was with injury, Ravens were the equivalent of down Yanda, Stanley, Brown (both), Snead, (then Lamar AFTER all that happens), and on D down Jimmy, BWill, Peters, Humphrey, Carr, Thomas. It was all the best players at all the worst times one by one and I have never seen anything happen quite like it.

The problem with that contract was not the overall value or the yearly/average - that’s just the going rate for a franchise qb

The problem was those early low cap hits - we mistakenly believed we were a better team with a better qb than we were and we mortgaged our future by heavily back-loading that deal and it hamstrung us and forced us to even out those hits after 3 years with another massive contract

The amount of that deal was fine
The structure of that deal was awful

Also btw those cap hits don’t represent what joe was actually getting paid - they weren’t discount years

he wasn't given big money. It was only 2 to 3 m per year for 3 years. Agree with your assessment though.

Imagine if instead of drafting Perriman, we drafted Frank Clark

Then you would have to imagine the Ray Rice situation never happening which is one of the reasons why The Ravens would most likely never draft a guy like Frank Clark who had domestic violence issues.

Hell yea.. him and london fletcher are probably some of the most underrated players in general.. along with frank gore
Yes, all three are / were underrated players. London Fletcher started to get more noticed in his days in Washington, as they had a pretty good defense and he was the quarterback of the D. However the main reason he went undrafted was due to his size.
