The Random Thought Thread

me neither but there's nothing that really indicates either way for sure yet - the picture will be much clearer after week 12
in the next 2 weeks:
  • the ravens and bengals play each other
  • the colts and titans play each other
  • the colts and dolphins play each other
there will likely be at least a 2 game cushion between some of these teams by the end of those 2 weeks
although there is a possibility that that would be impossible - all those 5 teams can be 5-5 after this week's slate of games (if ravens beat bengals and colts beat titans - dolphins are at 5-5 and on bye)
Dolphins arent making it so
You can cut them out the pic. Colts are the only consistent team right now thats in the race witn nelson looking like a hof guard. i havrnt looked at bengals schedule but if we dont beat them sunday, i think they get in

I just love what Ballard has done with the Colts. No flash, just cheap, good players and solid draft picks to install a culture of toughness in what was one of the softest team in the league. I'm happy this is starting to work out for them because he's been my favourite GM the last two years.

I still dont understand how grigson got and kept a job.

Ravens can make the playoffs if we beat the next three teams and split the two big teams left on our schedule. It’s still possible to make the playoffs if we lose to LAC and KC but it’s hard. You need to win the division from PIT and it’s possible but not super likely. It would mean PIT would need to lose to JAX and OAK against whom they’ve historically struggled.

I think health will dictate our season. The health of our guys and the health of players on the opposing teams’. I mean if Falcons lose Jones or Ridley that game changes big time. I’m not being real hopeful but it’s definitely there. The Titans are our biggest threat to making the playoffs honestly. Their remaining schedule is super easy.

for us to win division we have to basically when the rest of our games.. thats impossible.

No way we can make the playoffs without a better run game and I’m not sure that can happen with the weak play in the middle of the offensive line.

Pundits already throwing us near the top of the list of Le’Veon bell landing spots. They say he and Jackson would be unstoppable, and I don’t disagree, but if that were to happen I think bell has one big season as a revenge tour vs the steelers(and a revenge that’s unnecessary because he is 100% in the wrong) and clocks out for the rest of his career. So I am 100% against it due to hisnproven shit character

I don't know. For some reason, I've started to like him this year even though he was maybe the guy I hated the most in the league before. In the end all he wants is a fair contract for the player and the team. Maybe we can find a way to give him that and make him commit to the success of his new team. I don't know...

@JoeyFlex5 I saw the Bell stuff too. I hope he gets paid... Just not with us. If we actually shaved the cap like I hope, just to use it on Bell, I'd personally go to Baltimore to choke DeCosta myself. I have no problem with that money being used on OL, WR or pass rush. Draft a damn RB and keep it moving. That said, would like to see Bell on the Colts.

Bell would be tempting, especially if he takes a little less and more guaranteed money to stick it to them

100% in the wrong? He wants guaranteed money in a sport that traditionally protects it's teams and owners before the players. There is nothing wrong with not wanting to be tagged again and risk injury and therefore a contract. If the Steelers don't want to pay him, that is ok, however they keep on tagging him during his prime years so he can't go anywhere.

It’s not impossible but damn near improbable and you’d need everyone else to implode against teams that could beat them but probably won’t. I mean Raiders could beat PIT and they’ve historically struggled there but I’m not betting on it.

I’m saying Bell goes to Oakland.

we historically struggle with every team in the nfl maybe other than the bucs. We not winning div bro. We really dont even need to tbh: just need to make offs, which is still hard

If we had a decent run game it would literally change the make up of the team. That is the biggest missing piece.

What about his suspension history? I don't pay a guy that much if he's one incident away from being suspended for an entire season.

Didn’t they offer to make him the highest paid rb in history though? And he turned it down because he felt something along the lines of deserving rb+wr money due to his receiving numbers?
