you guys realise that most plays have more than 1 read right...
the first breshad catch (the td) he was the primary read and it was a play they'd seen the chargers beat us with the week before (but not get the throw off because we had pressure) - they saw the same coverage and had breshad run the go and all mayfield had to do was get jefferson flat-footed as the high safety and they had a td
that's the only time they "called his number" in the game - yes he caught another pass but he wasn't the first or even 2nd read - he was thrown to on a crazy broken play to the sideline...
you can also have your number called and not get a target because the defence can take you out of the play or the play can get read wrong or all manner of things
you're correct that he burned the ravens every time his number was called - because he burned us once on the only time his number was called in the game
very rarely is your "number called" in an nfl offence... running backs get it most on running plays, and receivers might get their number called on end-arounds or screens/shovels etc. and sometimes on a hot read if they know a blitz is coming - but mostly it's the short passing game and the running game where your number is called and you know for sure you're getting the ball
