Ramsey is a great talent, no doubt. Not worth all the headache though.
Like we haven’t had some players in here before that were never vociferous and didn’t speak their mind, huh

I don't remember anybody nearly getting into a fight with coach on the sideline.
And asking to be traded because he won't be bothered to learn to play zone coverage? Give me a break.

So if we are going by who a player follows on Instagram, Ramsey just followed a bunch of Eagles players.
Eh, I wouldn’t read to much into it. It’s not like he has a say in who he gets traded to anyways. It would be different if he was a free agent and did this though.

Also, remember when we were apparently favorites to land Bell in the off-season, according to several league sources at the combine lol.. only to find out we never even made the dude an offer. I’m not pinpointing anyone as favorites because things can change at the last second. I don’t even think we were even linked to Earl until the deal was announced. Eric could seriously offer a trade Thursday night or Friday morning and it could be accepted even though we haven’t been linked to him at all. We wanted to trade up for him in the draft because we were enamored with him. That’s all I need.

I mean they are for sure keeping him in the loop because his willingness to extend matters (which is why mediocre teams are out)

It’s really hard for me to give 2 firsts considering our struggles on the OL and pass rush and so many big contracts coming up.

Give a first? Absolutely. A first and anything more than a day 3 pick? Ugh, I get it, power play in hopes we can win it all this year by adding Ramsey, but damn I feel like that one would bite us in the ass when the patriots beat us in the AFCCG on a phantom roughing the passer call and then we’re stuck with no third Lombardi and no first round picks for 2 years..

It’s all moot though because I have full faith that the ravens aren’t even entertaining it

Last year when the Raiders traded Khalil Mack to the Bears, no one was saying whether or not it was worth two first round picks to get Khalil Mack and that is because whoever you pick will likely not be as good as Mack. First round picks exist to TRY and get people like Mack. I dont even like talking in memes but the meme is the most accurate thing to say here: "Khalil Mack is Khalil Mack but a first round pick could be anything... it could even be Khalil Mack." Jalen Ramsey is that kind of player at an even more important position. You have a chance to get elite talent you take it because elite talent at the right positions is how you win in the NFL and if you have a secondary no one can throw on, and a run defense that no one can run on then how do you lose?
First round picks aren’t there to play the lottery for Khalil Macks, the goal is to get the most talent you possibly can locked down to cheap contracts for 4-5 years.

You know damn well we are. We were enamored with him when he came out in the draft. Hell, we tried to move up for him. I’m sure nothing has changed since he’s the best Corner in the league and we desperately need one across from Marlon. Eric is on the phones seeing what they want. I’d be willing to bet on it.

The draft is a crapshoot. There’s no one we could possibly pick in the late 1st this year or next that will even be remotely close to Ramsey’s level. He’s only 24 and is the best at his position. He’s the kind of player you give up the farm and unload a bunch of money for. But hey, let him go to the Chiefs or Pats. The rich get richer and we’ll get torched by Mahomes or Brady in the playoffs, and the people opposing the trade will be wishing we had Ramsey to take away one side of the field. Y’all are probably the same crowd that thought the Khalil trade was awful.

I just wish we had Tavon and Jimmy this Sunday. Losing two of our best corners just freaking sucks! The Chiefs are going to take full advantage of this and put up points on the board. I really hope our offense is up to the challenge.

I know it is only week three and I may be getting ahead of myself but it would be nice to have that head to head win against the Chiefs down the road when it comes to playoff seeding.

1. I thought the Mack trade was great for both sides since the raiders literally didn’t have the cash in escrow to pay his guarantees, due to relocation fees, and great for the bears because they had a very good defense that was just one true stud away from being the best in the league

2. It would totally be nice to replace jimmy with Ramsey, if we did it I’d be plenty excited, but in doing that you are selling the farm for this year only and this team would only regress over the next few years afterwards. Trading 2 firsts for Ramsey and then signing him means a lot of things: 2-3 of the Stanley, pierce, peanut, marlon, Judon bunch are walking out the door very soon. Our OL is still going to be garbage and we’ll be counting on day 2 picks with no trade ammunition to fix it since we won’t have cap to sign any OL if one becomes available.

Trading for Ramsey and then not winning a SB this year basically dooms this team for the following 2 years unless Lamar truly carries the team with no OL and many of our top defenders gone in FA

Ramsey isn’t Khalil Mack. Khalil Mack is far better at his position IMO than Ramsey, who has been beaten and lost match ups. This is from a huge fan of Ramsey, as most can attest during that draft and after that I wanted him bad and was fine giving up Stanley and that DL who didn’t pan out at all for us and I don’t care enough to remember him or look him up. That said, I’d do a hard pass in giving up 2 1st round picks for Ramsey but I would do it for Mack.
