i mean what do you expect when you've lost 2 starting corners - not many teams have 5th/6th corners who arent DPI/TD machines

id say our corner depth is pretty astonishing - it's a shame we have to go right to the depths of it though

It sucks Marshall got hurt. I really wanted to see what he could do, and this would've been a big opportunity for him.

by all accounts he wasnt ready to play - could have been nice to see him but i think he might have been victimised by mahomes and their speed on the outside

Theres nothing astonishing about how we got torn to shreds. Out of our best 3 corners two are injury prone and one is on IR, we knew that and didnt make enough moves imo. Everyone here wanted to push for that Ramsey trade

i just dont know what you expect - going into training camp we had 4 bona fide starting corners and at least 2 other guys with some promise since then 2 starters have gone down and 1 of the promising guys has been thrown in the fire and struggled and the other promising guy is on i/r

To piggyback off what Rossi said, we all understand that this is a passing league and you need AT LEAST TWO bonafide corners to be successful on defense. Now we can say that they didn't make enough moves, but how many moves can they make during the offseason or reg. season to address our secondary issues? It's not like there are plenty of good CBs who are still unsigned free agents or whatever have you.

Make a trade even if its not for Ramsey, everyone here called it and surprise surprise we got torched. It wont be the first time either.

right but how much capital do you sink into the position?
also ramsey wouldnt have been able to play this sunday because he played on thursday

I actually like the fact that he couldn’t play today because I wanted EDC and company to see our secondary get exposed and get really aggressive on a Ramsey deal. I have no faith whatsoever in Jimmy anymore. I’m done with him. I’m pretty sure Jalen has never missed a game in his career. That’s what we need. If we don’t make a move, it’s not going to get any easier against Odell and company next Sunday. Sorry, but we pretty much have to make a move after today. Our secondary is straight trash and at least Jalen and Marlon can cover enough for the pass rush to get there. We need to get Jalen at all costs. I don’t care anymore about what it would take.

We can compete for it all this year, if we're not dead in the water at cornerback. Ask yourself how many times have cornerback injuries hurt us? or how many times we hit in the draft, maybe 1 in 4? Its just like the left guard problem that keeps coming back to hurt us.
 
I’m sorry but anyone who thinks this secondary can help get us to a Super Bowl is in denial, even when Jimmy gets back. Carr looks lost out there as well.

So many people on here love the damn draft. You think they’re Ozzie with how much they prefer to hoard so many picks to MAYBE hit on one or two of them. But nah, let’s choose a crapshoot over the best Corner in the game who’s only 24

Thats my general opinion too, I think the draft is important to get you to a position to compete but we're here now, we've got our QB and offense of the future, we've got good pieces on defense.

So all things considered we are pretty loaded but we're still only as strong as our weakest links and those links are the interior oline and cornerback. The AFC north is ours to lose and if we take a gimpy secondary to the playoffs we're going to get torched.

the Jaguars don't want to trade him
 
Next week is the Browns with the Steelers in week five and Bengals in week six. If we can come away 3/3 I think we can lock down the division early. It would be so good to get an early lead on this division and just run away with it early but that's not our style.
 
Getting Jimmy and Marlon back to full health will obviously improve the pass defense and would have changed the outcome of the game, that said injuries will happen and I still think we need another serviceable corner.

Agreed, Im so happy that our rivals are trash because they've all been shitting on Lamar. Theyre combined for 1-8 on the season.
