I like yannick hut but he is gonna cost too much plus he is the worst run stopper ever. I dnt wanna pay for wn inconsistent pass rusher
 
Everyone mad about a setting the edge like we have consistent edge rushers. Dumervil didnt play the run well either and that worked out for us until we pulled corners from the CFL. We need guys who will generate pressure and actually get there.

idk if yall know this or not but he isnt not a consistent pass rusher.. i wouldnt mind him but for the amount of money he wants... i dnt think its worth it
 
Here’s the deal. Currently we have: no quality edge setters, no quality edge rushers, no quality pass rushers in general.

Getting a quality edge rusher, whether he can or can’t set the edge, is an upgrade. And considering we have super bowl aspirations and our pass rush is a legit bottom 5 unit, ngakoue even if he is a complete liability in the run game is one of the biggest upgrades we could possibly make. It’s not like tyus bowser or Jaylen Ferguson are out there looking like Jarrett Johnson

his pass coverage has been really good this year, but yes he's not a good tackler and is only average as a run defender.

We have so many guys that can stop the run, but aren't good pass rusher. It would be kind of nice to have one that can get to the QB. Of course, we'd have to use him properly and that is the key.

Yes i agree but would you pay him north of 60 million? Would you pay him more than judon?

first, he wold be north of 60m, because he has turned down 19m average and it probably wasn't for 3 yrs, which is what would be 60m. How long do you see his extension being. Second, He's had 31.5 sacks since being drafted and I'd rather pay him than Judon, but would like to keep Judon as well, for the right price. Judon shouldn't cost what ZDS cost, not close.

Also, if we want to keep peters, which most of us on this board do, then we have to say no someplace.

Sacking the qb is worth more in 2019 than setting the edge, which Judon is only good at anyway(not great), so yes.

Not to mention you get a half season of quality play from Judon every year, not a full season, and you are sure to get a few really crushing penalties from him as well, over the course of the year his boneheaded penalties alone will probably cost you at the very least one game, he killed us vs the chiefs with idiotic penalties

yea but we are acting like yannick is consistent when he isnt. He is just like all of our pass rushers these last few yrs and we didnt pay them so why would we pay him?

His numbers say different as do fans. I haven't watch Jags games this year but the fans are saying hes consistently chipped and getting extra attention from TEs or backs.
 
really want these next 70 hours or so over and done with so we don't have to speculate anymore about who's coming and who's going..

Yannick gets alot of pressure. He's not elite, but he's top notch. I don't expect a pass rusher to get a sack every week.

I mean when i think about it yannick, bwill, pierce and judon is a pretty decent front but got dam he gonna want a lot of money and when he demands it, is he gonna be worth it? better pass rusher than judon but judon has other traits that basically put them on the same level. imo a pass rusher who doesnt demand double team shouldnt be north of 60 million

i said that because ive been watching jags games this year and sometimes i dnt even notice he on the field. josh allen and campbell are noticeable though. Maybe he is getting chipped and stuff and i just havent noticed

we said the same thing about Z and that's what he got. Yannick is definitely going to get at least that, probably around 5 years 80 mil.

how many years are you talking about in regards to your 60m?
 
One of the differences between EDC and ozzie is that EDC demands consistency before he pays anyone or decides not to cut them. Kenny Young had flashes last year and we still traded him away. Onwuasor had a couple bad games and the green dot got taken away. Averrett and Canady had a decent game here and there but we still upgraded the position. I doubt he pays Judon based on the 5 or so good games he'll have a year
