I would really like to see the yards total on those converted 4th downs. How many we needed and how many we made. Also, what happened at the end of those drives.
 
I never noticed this but after the Marlon no call against the Texans that man celebrated not giving up the td... That's hilarious to me.

Isn't that always the case with corners? A WR could drop a wide open pass with them being over 5 feet away and they would still celebrate like they did something. lol

yes they do and that really isn't going to stop unless Lamar Jackson starts playing cornerback.

That being said, I'd like to get back to the 70s rules before the 5 yard rule came into play. Mel Blount of the Steelers and "Ole Man Willie" Brown was the inspiration for this rule change.
 
This probably doesn't need to be said but Cliff Kingsbury is designing plays with wrinkles I've never seen.

I wasn't even born yet in the 70s, but I would approve this change. Too many rules nowadays to favor the offense.

Henry could be a huge problem for us if he's able to get to the edge. Outside of Marlon and Earl, who else is going to be able to bring him down if he makes it past the front 7? Peters would literally pull a Grandpa Simpson and "nope" the fuck outta there...
 
I know there's a link to Ravens site in news section already but I just wanted to acknowledge Cary Williams retiring as a Raven.

Made a long journey from Titans PS to Super Bowl champion as a Raven. Had good and bad games but always played with right attitude and heart. I'll never forget the final nail he drilled in the NE coffin in our big revenge game at Foxboro.

 
Ya know, I just watched a few fairly long videos of our Sb run with joe, and as exciting as this fun new ravens team is, I don’t know if a SB run this year could ever top the hype of that one.

We had watched hall of fame defenders who have wasted years in Baltimore playing with a horrible offense, finally start bringing a culture to the team, when joe and harbaugh came it felt like it was bound to happen one day, we just didn’t know when. 2011s loss was heartbreaking and it felt like we had been robbed by the football gods and many thought our window may had been closing. The team dominated and then fell apart late in 2012, a coach got fired and our general came back healthy, all of a sudden the team caught fire. And we unexpectedly got that super bowl we had waited all these years for. It was a pretty goddamn incredible run and it felt like an epic culmination of many many years of heartbreak and falling short finally resulting in something, like a blood, sweat, and tears sort of thing. Honestly, going into Denver, i was kinda just preparing to have beers with friends and watch, were not gonna win but I’ll make a night of it, whatever.. Denver scored first, here comes the blowout, but then we responded with a big TD, and we kept responding, and I’m like “damn, we’re gonna make this interesting”, when that mile high miracle hit I was in complete disbelief, I couldn’t believe we were even in a position to be within one score that late, then it felt inevitable, nobody will stop us.

If this team wins a SB, it’ll be a crazy opposition to all opinions and analyses of this team in the offseason, and weee gonna really shove it to the media and nfl world, but the payoff for all those years with ray and ed and sizzle and ngata and boldin and rice etc. was more satisfying than I feel a Sb this year could ever be... Sorry for the ramble lmao

for me i was a ravens fan during that 2012 run but i had nowhere near the connection with the franchise that i have now - and just the whole lamar thing - and im envisioning the superbowl team nfl films feature and it starting with 'they gonna get a superbowl outta me, belee dat' and getting chills lol

there's different ways of winning and i think we still were kinda disrespected by the football cognoscenti after superbowl 47 - if we win this year then there's no disrespect anyone can send our way - no doubts or anything

I was around for boller, not quite grbac, but boller for sure. I go back to the Todd heap, will demps, Chris McAllister, Jamal Lewis days, I saw that team that was so goddamn ugly because our offense was so bad, I saw us choke away a 13-3 record with our franchises 2nd best defense ever(06 ravens is straight up a top 5 all time unit). I saw Flacco’s day one start when I was well established in ravens fandom lol. That culture change was very apparent from that day on, Ray became less of a showman but more of a leader, sizzle really came into his own as a household name, Ed Reed was becoming an elder statesman lol. Like if you were there from the start, it felt like such a long awaited payoff when we finally won with those guys.

The 2012 run was just a magical one. I'm not ashamed to admit that I was literally crying on my drive home from work as soon as Ray announced his retirement before the playoffs even started and then the gauntlet that we had to go through (Luck, Peyton, Brady, and then Kap who was nuts that year). The Denver game also happened to be on my birthday so I was a fucking wreck while watching it lol, but it ended up being the greatest game I've ever watched with the rollercoaster of emotions that was going on in that game. You're definitely right when you say that this possible SB run isn't going to feel the same. I'm still going to enjoy it if it happens, obviously, but that 2012 run was just something else.

I do remember watching that game and although I wasn't a fan of the Ravens at the time, I always had respect for the organization as a whole so I was rooting for them. That was definitely a thriller and one of the best finishes of all time.
 
Given the outcome of the Patriots and Texans games today, there is a chance that Houston could be eliminated from getting a BYE week if the Patriots win against the Bills. If Houston has the division wrapped up, they could sit starters against the Titans. Meaning if we beat Pittsburgh, and the Titans get an easy win, we could knock them out of the playoffs thanks to the help of the Texans. Would you still bench Lamar and more starters knowing the Texans were resting starters in Week 17?
