The Random Thought Thread

The Raiders need four Week 17 games to go their way in order to make the playoffs. They must beat the Broncos and then get wins by the Ravens, Texans and Colts. Then, they also need a victory by one of the following teams: Bears, Lions, Chiefs or Patriots. FPI gives it all a 12.5% chance of happening.

I know this takes a lot to happen but I legitimately think that's what's going to happen.

yes we did and was thinking that prior to posting this. We ended up getting very lucky to land him. Hell I wanted him at 16.

I trust our guys. They said Steve wanted him at 16. I had a feeling we were going for him because despite them trying make no association with him, there were rumors we were interested and the need at qb. I freaked out when the Saints traded up and for sure thought they were going to take him then. The FO guys say knew that when he wasn't taken at a certain point they were good. I don't think it was passing on him as much as trying to throw off the scent and getting an additional weapon/picks. They're motivations now, but then those "red flags" for teams helped as well. His mom being the agent, not running the 40, unwillingness to switch positions, running qb, blah blah blah...

With both us and Texans likely resting starters you’ve got to think one out of the titans and steelers will win

But yeah it’s not a ridiculously outrageous scenario

I've been waiting for the internet to upload this for a while, but I can finally ask the important question. Who did it better on ESPN - Joe or Lamar?

oh yeah, when the Saints traded up I almost passed out for the same reason. I mean, who else would they be trading up for....seriously.

Mark Ingram's MRI confirmed a strained calf.
It's about the best news Baltimore could have hoped for after Ingram went down with a concerning non-contact injury in Sunday's victory over Cleveland. Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the "hope" is that Ingram will be ready to rock for the Ravens' playoff opener in three weeks. Ingram wasn't likely to play in Week 17 anyway with the Ravens already assured of home-field advantage throughout the postseason. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill split backfield reps after Ingram's injury Sunday.

Good deal brother! He may be good to go. This is the best news we could have hoped for. I was afraid it was going to be a tear.

press conf on now

Harbs said most will be playing with a few exceptions. I missed part of the PC due to a bad feed but he did mention a few not playing, ie Ingram, ET and others

I suck. I really do. Why do I have such a bad feeling about the playoffs?

Maybe I’m still in disbelief, or just still so stuck in the old ravens mentality, or just feel like we’re still unproven in these big moments, but man... I’m nervous. I’m really worried that the chiefs and patriots are hitting their strides and were starting to simmer down.

Just shoot me, I know I suck.

I don’t think we’ve slowed down, we’ve just been so good for 11 weeks now it feels like normal

Don't stress @JoeyFlex5 . Everyone is worried about too much rest. We are a RUNNING team. Rest is good. The guys will come out fresh and this team is too locked in. If we lose, it will be because the other team was better that day, but don't see it happening. Think about this. get a weeks rest, two homes and another week if we make bowl. Do you all realize the shit we can cook up with our coordinators in this time? Playoffs going to be fun.

It would NOT surprise me if Ravens, Texans, and Colts win.........................and the Raiders lose. That's totally Raiders-esque right there.

The way I see it? Lamar's shitty performance in the first 3 quarters (thanks in part to M***y) could've been the best thing to ever happen in his career. You don't think that he or his critics haven't forgotten about that shit? Look at this upcoming playoff game as not only a challenge, but an opportunity of redemption.

I think this playoff game will mean the most to Lamar because the LAST THING WE NEED is for haters/doubters/critics to say "See, Lamar can't win a playoff game when it matters most."

Take a deep breath and relax. Marty is not here to fuck this one up.

Kc was gonna hit their stride no matter what. They were my SB team from the start outta afc so thats the only team im worried about. Long as Kc win sunday, we wont be playing patriots. Even if we were to play them? Tbh im not really worried. Their offense could possibly keep us in the game

Was listening to gregg rosenthaal on the atn podcast and he said something that made me feel pretty awesome:

He pulled up lamar’s statistical performance and basically said he did all this (200+ pass yds, 100+ rushing yds 3tds) and it’s not really even newsworthy anymore because it’s the new normal

Lamar backed up an historic november with an equally impressive December

It’s a legitimate point to wonder if other teams are getting better but there’ve been no real signs that we aren’t still performing at that crazy high level it felt like we were during that crazy stretch of games

I need to get off social media, specifically NFL Memes. Chiefs fans are becoming unbearable. Apparently Lamar is running a gimmicky, college-style offense and barely throws for 5 yards every time. He’s still a RB that the league will figure out next season. Our offense is akin to the Wildcat. Also, Ravens fans are apparently cocky and talk a lot of shit. I’ve been a Ravens fan since 2004 and joined the official BR.com board when it was made. I’ve never known us to be cocky. I’m just going to stay here, our home, where we all might get in an argument every now and then, but it’s still Baltimore vs. the world.
