He MIGHT be, they have said little about what they would actually do in that regard. They could put him on that, but on the other hand how long does an investigation really take when the only holdup is that the accuser wont release the NDA?
The AB investigation will take as long as Godell wants it to.

There is no way in hell the commish lets this dude who has been an embarrassment to the league jump instantly into the playoff spotlight and help swing the odds in favor of any team he chooses.

I wonder if our 4th down conversions will continue to work in playoffs..
will be interesting to see. I think we stick with the analytics regarding 4th down but I do think we pushed the envelope a bit going for it inside our our 30 with a lead.

Still no reason to significantly change your approach in the playoffs

Would that be because KC is a bigger market than Baltimore?

probably because it would be the better game most likely...
but maybe im wrong - that's all conjecture about which cbs crew

hopefully the second cbs crew is harlan and gannon anyway so it doesnt matter lol but im a little concerned it might be eagle and fouts

that wasnt something we'll do in any other game - that was harbs flexing in a game where it really didnt matter either way

doing it inside the 30 also depends on game situation and who we're playing against

Exactly. And he needs to investigate ABs ulterior motives with his behavior, has he been outing himself with different teams so he can get to whatever team he wants? If so that’s nonsense and it should result in punishment because that’s a precedent we don’t wanna set, this is not the NBA

It reminded me of when we faked the punt against the dolphins when we were up by 30. Harbs probably wanted to put that on tape to give opposing teams something to think about.

And we did it inside 30 on a trick play (fake punt), not a regular play with the defense lined up. It's been done also I guess to practice/showcase that play for the playoffs. I have a hard time thinking Harbaugh would (or analytics would warrant) going for it on fourth down within our territory in the playoffs unless we are trailing at the end of the game. For a couple of years however I have been thinking that systematically going for it on 4th and short in opponent's territory should be more productive on average than playing positioning with punts or setteling for field goals all the times.

going for it in your own territory is something that the analytics say coaches should do more but obviously the risk is higher and coaches (even harbs) are conservative and risk-averse by nature

in a lot of cases the analytics would tell an aggressive coach to go for it even in your own territory at times especially when it's 4th and 1 or shorter

Thanks for the intel. Then I guess the driver on this topic is the quality of your Oline and its ability to move the point of attack with confidence for 1-2 yards against a stacked box.
I think we have a pretty good one now (I heard Dieon Sanders yesterday stating that Dallas' Oline, which I though was the gold standard, was now quite overrated). I know our Oline has been a regular aera of concern on this forum the past couple of years but maybe we should be happy with what they built. We ran for more than 200 yards on the steelers' D without Lamar, Ingram and Yanda.

So the question would be do we have such a dominant Oline that we can afford to regularily go for it on 4th and short in the incoming playoffs? With the Lamar factor maybe the answer is yes.

Yea I don’t see it happening anytime soon. EDC is too smart to let his coordinators go. Gotta pay them top money

Yeah - had to know that was coming. Of all the vacancies where Roman would be desired, I assumed Cleveland would be one of them.

"Requesting permission" is a request from the Raven's organization to allow him to interview, which we undoubtedly will grant. We don't hold back on any of our staff who seek promotion in another organization.

It was Wink's quote, but hopefully Roman has the same opinion ... only willing to go to a place where you have a strong chance to "build a winning culture". When I think winning culture, the Browns are not the first organization that comes to mind.

I also think Roman will not want to transfer within the division. I think other jobs will come up - either this offseason or next - that will be potentially more appealing and will take him out of the division.
