Tbh I LOVE the legacy rivalry idea, ravens titans rivalry renewed.

but I see what you’re saying, like nothing else really does make sense in all honesty

would probably have to be an NFC opponent - more likely in this hypothetical scenario it would be Washington or something like that that's more geographically based

wouldnt necessarily be legacy based for everyone

but you can have in some cases a yearly battle for supremacy in a region - the Texas game, the LA game, the Pennsylvania game, the Bay Area (formerly i suppose) game, the New York game

it doesnt fit perfectly and im sure in this scenario the NFL would probably rather Steelers Cowboys every year than Steelers Eagles and Texans Cowboys...

likewise NFL would probably want Giants Patriots in stead of Giants Jets and Pats vs ???

logistically its clearly pretty difficult and for the most part in the scenario they've come up with these rivalries still have a chance to happen anyway

I saw on ESPN that if we were to lose, the ONLY two ways we get in is either a Browns loss or Colts loss. Dolphins and Titans game mean absolutely nothing.

I remember seeing in this site that the Ravens don't need any more motivation to win this game. At first, I agreed. Come to think of it, I now disagree. I stg, we BETTER not lose this fucking game/miss the playoffs this season despite having three curses against us. I don't think I can forgive them until they win it all. I feel this way for one reason and one reason ONLY. In memory of this angel right here.......

man... that would be incredible

I've got a funny feeling about the Chiefs. Sure, they are winning and absolutely nobody wants to face them.

My thing is, I don't think they are playing very well and they've had their share of good fortune this year. Combine that with the fact that they've won 23 of the last 24, something ridiculous like that. Eventually, they won't be the beneficiaries of bad coaching/kicking/execution from opponents.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I won't be totally shocked if they don't repeat. Everyone in the media seems to be gifting them the AFC crown.

this might be sacrilege to some but I really do think i'd rather pay Judon than Ngakoue

Judon's been high on these types of lists for the last 3 years - the sack numbers are lower than league-leaders but the pressure events are always close to the top of the league rankings and he does more than just pass rush

Ngakoue's been nice but if I could pick 2/3 of the EDGE guys to keep im keeping Judon and Bowser

Judon also has a little Timmy Jernigan in him in that he has these boneheaded penalties.

Watching the Bills and some of these other defenses lately, we need some faster defensive linemen in the worst way. Williams, Wolfe and Calais are slugs out there. Kind of why I want to switch to a base 43, or at least get some more athletic linemen to pair with Mad Boogie

Watching the Patriots toil away into mediocrity is so great. Still can’t believe we lost to them though.

LOVE to see it, damn its beautiful.

i am DYING to see pitt or tenn in the wild card. i want payback.

I want Tenn and it's not even close. Between last year then the BS they pulled this year.

Anyway, gotta give the staff credit. I would constantly complain about not sticking with the hot hand or straying from what was working. During the streak, we've stuck to what's working and realized our best rushing attack was Dobbins and Edwards. Probably not well known outside of Baltimore but damn Gus is good and fits this team perfectly. Would love to keep him, but he's probably earned a decent payday.

Like I’m seriously hoping for them, there’s no team I want more, I want to kick the absolut shit out of them and I fully believe if our defense is healthy that we will.

then I wanna see Pitt and get revenge on their dickbag fan base, then I wanna exorcise the KC demons. I’m sick of these 3 teams and I wanna kick their asses

Edwards is a RFA, so we will lock him up this year. In 2022 he will be gone.

Beating TN in the Playoffs would be nice, but I'd rather knock the Steelers out. Now if we can have both of them, ie @JoeyFlex5 that would be incredible.

We had to knock out the boogeymen to win the super bowl in 2012, let’s do it again

Assuming TEN handles Houston, which they should, they're locked into the 4 seed. They can't move up, only down. Theoretically they can miss the playoffs entirely, but that'll require a combo of factors, including losing to Houston as the primary.

So assuming a win there, the only way we'll get Tennessee is to jump Miami. That means Miami has to lose to Buffalo. I have zero reason to think either BUF or PIT are going to trot out key starters for meaningful snaps. They can't move up and they can't move down. They're just swapping between #2 and #3, and there's no difference in seeding there.

For me, everything is lining up for Ravens vs Steelers #3 in Pittsburgh.

I'll say this also... one could say the Ravens have the most difficult "must win" game on the schedule in the AFC. I think Miami and Cleveland, while harder games on paper, will be playing teams resting key players. Indianapolis plays the worst team in football (Jacksonville) by a wide margin. And Tennessee plays Houston, who's obviously a bad team, and has lost 4 straight.

The Bengals, while not a good team, are at least riding back-to-back wins, and playing as well as they have all year.

Ultimately, come about 8pm on Sunday, I think the playoff seeding is going to be exactly the same as it is today. Colts will be out.

Cleveland @ Buffalo
Baltimore @ Pittsburgh
Miami @ Tennessee
KC Bye

Bonus for NFC predictions:
LA Rams @ New Orleans
Arizona @ Seattle
Tampa @ Dallas
GB Bye

I feel like the bills are gonna play. Idk why but McDermott just seems like a coach who would rather have his starters out there, he’s from the old school where you play to win every game

but as bad as I want Tennessee, Pitt is a great consolation, we’re gonna fucking roll them, I’m expecting a bigger beat down than the 2014 wild card

My comments would be:
1. Winning doesn't guarantee they play anybody
2. I would be shocked to see Pittsburgh trot their starters out there against Cleveland in this game. They got the scheduling shaft and haven't had a bye week since week 4. If they play a half that would be a lot. Fully expect the Browns to handle Pittsburgh, making Buffalo's game pointless, win or lose.

Maybe these teams treat it as a preseason game and get some reps in, but the last thing I'm doing is playing my studs 4 quarters against hungry, aggressive teams who need to win to stay alive in the playoffs.

I agree and so does my friend, who is a Bills fan.

If steelers lose and bills win, they both stay #2 and #3 correct? Steelers could very well rest their starters and be fine with it but i think bills go out and try to win. They could potentially have hfa throughout if kc loses.

Nope, they can't. Chiefs clinched homefield already, and Chiefs already said they're resting players.

KC is the top seed no matter what.
Pittsburgh and Buffalo can only be #2 and #3. They can flip flop there, but the only advantage this year of being #2 vs #3 is a guaranteed divisional round home game, which isn't that meaningful when there's no fans.

My bad.. i meant that if kc loses next rnd, bills could have hfa throughout.
