ESPN Get Up is really pissing me off. They barely took a second to talk about how impressive the record breaking kick was. They didn’t even talk a second about how clutch a throw 4th and 19 was. Nopeee, they just babbled about how the delay of game happened. Well excuse me, but two things:

1) The dumbasses don’t even know enough about the sport to know the stadium game clock differs from TV clock sometimes. It had happened earlier during the game. So yeah it’s a probability it happened again. Yes, one of the dumbasses includes Ryan Clark. What a freaking homer

2) Lamar pushed the ball past what 4th and 24 would’ve been. So there’s that

3)! Who knows if Tucker could make it from 71. I wish the ball would’ve carried further because then those dumbasses would look like the dumbasses they truly are

God I hate media

The delay of game thing is maddening. They were having clock issues all game. Tell me the Lions sideline wouldn’t have been going bonkers if it was a delay of game. They were as calm as could be in that regard. If that doesn’t tell you the broadcast was off, I don’t know what will.

Far too early to say that but he absolutely has to start taking a step forward. We’ve seen some signs. Now he needs to put it together when it matters.

Has Queen been bad?

Yeah but Mr Dan Campbell Soup sure is playing the victim card

Yeah, the Lions' sideline was very calm for what was a "horrendous" missed call. I can understand being angry about it, but it's not the only reason that the Lions lost the game. If they didn't let Lamar convert a 4th and 19 then they wouldn't have been in that predicament, just to give an example.

No players, coaches, or even fans at the stadium were doing anything about it. Honestly, if there was a delay of game, it's on them for not trying to bring attention to it.

also the assumption is that the game clock was right on the broadcast... dan campbell and none of the detroit sideline were worried about it at all which suggests to me that the broadcast just missed a game clock reset by the referees - you cant see on the broadcast that they reset the gameclock but you do see the ref talking to lamar with about 13 seconds left on CBS's clock...

notably no one in the crowd was calling out delay of game either and there would have been bedlam if that was really what the clock said

also worth pointing out that none of the offence was in a hurry to snap it, lamar wasn't clapping for the ball to get it out etc either

he's inconsistent game-to-game and he's inconsistent in-game

he's clearly better in coverage than he was last year but he disappeared yesterday without the protection of B Will, Mad and Wolfe in front of him... he's not someone who can get off blocks right now so it's so important that he stays clean which is why those big guys in front of him are so important

also the refs normally give the offence an extra second anyway - they look to the playclock and see if it hits 0 then look back to see if the snap's off before they flag the penalty

normally that's about a second

it would have been a long second but it wouldnt be egregious by the ways the refs normally officiate that kind of thing

but im still not convinced the clock was even down that low

Yeah but like I said NOW Campbell Soup is crying about how unfair that was. Trying to gain public sympathy. What a guy

it's fine - just like joe judge and his ilk, he won't last long in this league as a HC

especially with how error-strewn and poorly disciplined their team was on a basic level yesterday

Espn is garbage and we should all know this by now, also Ryan Clark has been the biggest Lamar Stan in all sports media, he RIDES for Lamar Jackson

Clark sure didn’t make an attempt at giving Lamar credit for the clutch throw he made

There’s no way it was, just 2 or 3 plays prior they had to stop the game for a hot ass minute to get their shit together with the clock because the play and game clock were way out of sync

I don't let that kind of stuff get to me. As others have said, Clark is no homer when it comes to Lamar. He's quite evenhanded in general. If the clock really did expire by as much as is shown, that is a big deal, but bad calls happen every game. The Packers wouldn't have needed that very last drive last night if bad calls hadn't happened. It's something to talk about this week, forgotten next week.

But there's no way that field goal is good from 71, or even one foot further. There's a reason it was 3 yards longer than any other field goal in history, outside of Mile High Stadium (or whatever they're calling it now). It was awesome.

and you know what - if it was a delay of game then maybe it's finally us getting the rub of the green after that abysmal ending in jacksonville all those years ago
