The Random Thought Thread

NFL decided to keep Seahawks-Steelers on SNF, now that game no longer has Russell Wilson starting and a struggling Steelers team. While passing on Chargers-Ravens which will have major playoff implications and potentially a game that determines home field in the AFC.
No issue what their choice. Obviously can't predict injuries and Steelers/Seahawks would have been a highly rated game. Very well may still be, especially with the Steelers still in contention in the AFC.

Also, for me, its pretty clear at this point that barring some sort of major injury, home field in the AFC is almost certainly going through Buffalo. If you look at the Bills schedule, it's going to be conducive to winning 14 or 15 games this year, which neither the Ravens nor Chargers will likely do.

We have 5 primetime games already. I am very much ok with not having a 6th.

yeah they might not lose again tbh - they've only got maybe 1 really good team left on their schedule

KC needs to take care of business during it's division games if they want to make the playoffs. I think they will but it's not a certainty

Joe Thuney fractured his hand last night and the Defense cant seem to stop anyone so their season seems to be trending in the wrong direction. Tough schedule as well with Ten, Pitt, Dal, GB, Cinci, and Den x2

Just watched CLE-LAC on gamepass and I have to ask you guys: Is this really the kind of NFL that fans want these days? A score means almost nothing, you know you have to score on basically every drive. The defenses are just tackling dummies with no real purpose. Bleh, give me a good old 13-10 game any day where every score counts and it is not just about "who gets the ball last wins". I know I'm old and contrary and the casual fan wants high scoring games to cheer at, but the more dedicated fans like you guys here?

i like high scoring games when they're not the norm - that rams-chiefs game in 2018 was amazing to watch

Not saying I think *every* high scoring game is bad, but there's been far too many of them for my taste. Including one of ours. Sometimes, they're fun, but usually I'm just bored when there are no surprises like turnovers and sacks.

I’m with you, I like the touchdowns to feel major, for the most part the best games IMO are when both teams are under 30 points

I think the Bolts turned the ball over twice if I recall. I believe that led to a Browns TD afterwards. Good part is that high-scoring games aren't the norm for the most part.

At the end of the day, we just gotta play clean football. I'm REALLY curious to see how the Colts defense plays against us.

they play a ton of zone and that's even before they ruled rock ya-sin out - their secondary is fine but unspectacular - their front 7 with kwity paye out is deforest buckner, darius leonard and no one else

i think we'll see them try and do what the lions and broncos did and crowd the line and hopefully the receivers have their catching hands on today

wouldn't surprise me to see them as a WC team finishing the season strong and a tough out.

My greatest fear is they get the Wildcard and come to Baltimore. Lol

Bit of a thought after the game, but remember what everyone's reaction was to us drafting Stephens? He got thrown into the fire and has more than held his own, even against the Chiefs' offense. With Averett probably hitting free agency and Jimmy Smith possibly hitting that retirement age, Stephens could turn out to be one of the most important picks in that draft, assuming he keeps this up.

he's been great so far and really is only going to get better as he gets more comfortable especially coming downhill

Agree, although I don't know if he would be moving to CB. Another point is Peters contract is only through 2022, it's quite possible we see big changes in our starting CBs in the upcoming years, unless one of or both of Averett and Peters get resigned, which I doubt both of them do. We need to start moving dollars to the offense.
