consistency of trashness?
if that were the case then only like a few players you should be calling trash lol... villanueva, powers, harrison... maybe the non-Freeman RBs???

like every other player has played well for at least a decent proportion of their snaps at some points or others

so i dont think you're judging it on consistency of trashness lol
Our safties, queen at first.. whoever we put in to rush the passer, the whole oline outside of Z( bozeman decent but..)

i mean in 2020 he was undisputedly a top 3 KR in the league (and only took over PR responsibilities at the end of the year) and was 1 of only 4 guys of note who managed to house a kick return

and because of that in 2021, teams aren't kicking him the ball - consistently teams are just kicking it out the back of the endzone for touchbacks so he's only had 13 opportunities in 10 games to return kickoffs... and 5 of them were in the indy game

teams are scared of him so they arent kicking him the ball on kickoffs - much harder to avoid guys in punt returns and he's outclassing last year's all-pro punt returner (and everyone else) by at least 3 yards per return
They scared of who? Duverney? Yea we gotta be watching different players. He doesnt make not one move when ball in his hands.. id be happy to go against guy who i dnt have to worry about juking me

Judon on this same BS with Marlon about mac and cheese being overrated. No wonder we let him go. Couldn't afford to have these 2 idiots spreading this propaganda about it being just cheese and noodles.

Marlo hasn't had a single turnover since that comment, unlikely that's a coincidence. No more sacks for Judon.

Straight line speed is far superior to shiftiness when it comes to KR. But let's not act like he isn't shifty on PRs though. Yeah he's not Devin Hester out there but he's been a high end returner in both facets and it's really not even a debate.

and he has elite straight-line speed that allows him to get around the edge and turn the corner on punt returns

He isnt as a pr, but as a kr i wouldnt even think of him.. i didnt think of pr when i first saw “ returner”.. i immediately thought of him at kr
Every kickoff is a touchback, that automatically puts him in the elite category because teams are scared to kick to him lol, notice how every week tucker will drop a few at the 1 hoping we can get them inside the 20, that’s standard, kickers don’t even consider it with us because of duvernay, and when they give him one he’s usually going past the 25.

if anything I’d have a problem with him as a PR because he’s had a few lapses in judgement fielding/not fielding them close to the endzone but he’s still doing damage frequently when he’s able to catch it clean

Duvernay might be the best returner in the league this year and Koch has been flat out bad for the most part, I think he might be done
I'm concerned what happens when Koch is in fact done. If you are saying we won't renew him, what is that going to do with the chemistry between Tucker and Koch.

Man I’m starting to really question if you even tune in on sundays fr…

The true Wolfpack ended with the loss of Morgan Cox and we made out alright . I’m sure we’ll find a new punter that Tuck can sing opera with on the weekends.

agree, he's averaging 15.6 yards per punt return. That may be league leading. He could he be better at fielding punts, but to downplay him as a very good punt returner is downright criminal.

it's an underrated part of koch's game that he's an unbelievable holder and any chemistry would be important but not important enough to keep him if he really is truly declining like it seems he is

Genuinely a bit worried about Koch leaving as a holder. We've seen quite a few kickers come through Baltimore who looked amazing here and then couldn't cut it anywhere else. What's the common factor there..?

He had one punt last game that looked reminiscent of old Koch but he's been far too inconsistent this year and a lot more bad than good when it comes to the actual kicking part of his job.

yeah the beauty that landed at the 5 that wallace let bounce into the endzone

but he also had 2 or 3 other punts from in and around midfield that were bouncing at the 20 and netting very little

he's not getting the distance on some of his deeper punts, he's not getting the aiming point with consistency on those shorter ones, and i havent seen as many of those knuckle balls or directional punts to make it tricky for the returner

best guess?

1) the unit upholds it's own standards - while you're here you train and play with the standards that the wolfpack does or you dont stay here
2) coaching - the dedicated kicking coach and staff here is still not a common thing in the rest of the league

those kickers that maintain their standards elsewhere (as well as just having the natural talent) make it and can play at a high level e.g. graham gano or will lutz or stephen hauschka

but others do fall by the wayside

id be worried about koch leaving as a holder in the same way that i was worried about morgan cox being let go - but the ravens are exceptionally good at identifying guys on special teams - they identified nick moore and made sure they kept him - im sure they'll do the same with a punter and a holder (it's great that they're the same person but no reason they have to be)

I agree with you. I was also worried about Morgan Cox leaving, but not as much as I will be when Koch finally retires or is let go.

Josh cribbs was shifty but not fast at all.. almost every kr i can think of has been shifty.. imagine tyreek hill not being shifty? Wouldnt be half of the player he currently is

Every sunday unless its monday night..just go watch about 3 random kr from duv and you honestly tell me is that something that teams should be scared of..

the point is you won't find 3 random KRs from duvernay because teams aren't kicking him the ball that's the point... he's averaging 1.3 returns per game right now

and shiftiness is more important on punt returns than kick returns... kick returns is about finding a lane and accelerating through it - it's much less about making people miss which is more of a useful skill in punt returning
