Any idea why we get lined up so late and snap the ball with barely a second left on the clock? It’s getting ridiculous now

long playcalls and lots of pre-snap motion
i'd like to see us change it up once in a while - it's mostly not a problem except when it gets really noisy on the road where it can mess up timings

I also frequently see Lamar calling the play in the huddle and then GOING BACK and looking at his wrist band like hes having trouble remembering whats what. It may be nothing, but I swear I notice it a LOT.

4-5 starters would put a draft close to the 2018 ravens or 2017 saints kind of realm - the kinds of draft classes that instantly turn franchises around lol

you're normally aiming for 3 starters in a draft to call it a surefire success

ravens have done well since 2016 mostly getting good classes:
16: 3 starters (if you include slot corner which I do)
17: 3 starters
18: 6 starters (including 3 pro bowlers) + 3 more starters for other teams
19: 2 starters
20: 3 starters

and 2021 looks like we're looking at 3 starters already with Bateman, Oweh and Stephens

but that being said that doesn't preclude us from throwing resources at OL - would be surprised if we dont double dip there to increase our chances of hitting on 1
Absolutely fine with trying to hit on a tackle, but assuming Bozeman stays, the pieces should be there for the interior. Just need them to get healthy, plus another year of growth for the younger guys.

and 3 starters is considered a very good draft, not franchise resetting like 2018. 2 starters is still considered good as long as depth comes into the mix also.

you'll see tom brady do the same thing - frequently checking the wristband

oh absolutely - i would worry a bit if bozeman wasn't retained that we might need to sink more draft capital there too but yeah we dont need anymore guards or backup IOL lol

at that point it starts to matter what kind of starters we're talking about - 2019 looks poor because Hollywood's a good starter but ben powers is a replacement level starting type player...

Has there ever been someone that played here, even for a short amount of time, that wasn’t a Raven for life (besides Osemele)?

I just saw this and was coming here to post this. Like seriously, we would be a 10 or 11 win team right now if we were fully healthy and none of the injuries happened. Like that is the scary thing about next season, say everyone comes back healthy and we fix the issues on the OL? We are Super Bowl contenders easily.

I've been critical of both coordinators because I definitely think there are things they could improve on. However, I'm not at all convinced you couldn't win a SB with this entire coaching staff.

If we were to make a change in offense I don't know who it would be to. I wouldn't know if it would be from within or out of the building.

If we were to make a change on defense, I would guess internal. I'm not sure there's a better option the wink on this staff. What do you guys think? There's just so little way of knowing.

organisationally we always seem to try and elevate internally - mike mcdonald was probably gonna be the next guy but he left this offseason - and now there's lots of options...

Rob Ryan and Anthony Weaver both have previous experience as DCs in the league (and Ryan especially has some links and similarities with Wink philosophically)

But to me it seems likely that Chris Hewitt would be the next guy on defence - they've been steadily promoting him and increasing his role every couple of years to try and keep him around - my guess is he's the next guy in waiting and just like Wink had his own ideas about freshening up the defence stylistically he probably also has his own (especially having worked so closely with the DBs for so long)

my thinking on offence is that if we're changing something it's because we need or want to make some drastic changes and that, to me, would suggest needing to bring someone in from outside the building with their own ideas and scheme - but it's not a bad position to be in - id imagine there's a lot of OCs who'd love the opportunity to design an offence around a playmaker like lamar

That all makes a lot of sense to me. I'd assume knowing harbs though, no changes are made.
