So on the whole punt God thing. Anyone find it weird that he got cut this quickly? Like he and his agent have maintained innocence the whole time. So in a situation where there's accusations and denial rather than confession, isn't the procedure that an investigation takes place?

Like is the girl pressing criminal or civil charges? Is this just something that got posted online. I know none of the details. My only point here is that the way this situation was handled versus Deshaun Watson is incredibly different.

And obviously Watson is a star QB and the other is a rookie punter, I get that, but that would only emphasize a double standard.
If you read up on what happened, the answers to those questions will be pretty obvious. Understandable if you have no desire to read up on it.

The evidence is staggering, particularly the phone call between the alleged victim and the punter. The fact that he hasn't been criminally charged *yet* would be shocking, except it's almost standard with rape victims. Not surprising that the Bills' "thorough" investigation didn't involved attempting to contact the alleged victim.

Here's a suggestion to everyone: make it to your deathbed without having been involved in a gang rape of a minor.

Apparently, Bills "found out about it a month ago" (according to Bills). That's a load of crap.

They still waited to ride it out, cut the other punter since but not this assehole.

100% - found out about it a month ago and cut the other guy says they werent concerned about it

they're lying about something... either they knew about Araiza and didn't care or they didn't know about Araiza at all but they dont want people to think they suck at their jobs

Oh gotcha. I'll look into it!

I was looking at the Ravens online store and I am baffled by something. They still have Super Bowl Champion hats for sale from 2012... discounted at $23.99 from regular pricing of $59.99. Shouldn't this be like $5 in the year 2022 lol. I guess if you didn't have the money to buy it back then, you can buy it now lol.

I think the investigation by the police has taken place and a lack of evidence has lead to a civil lawsuit Vs criminal. Maybe the Bills read those reports and thought it wouldn’t become an issue like this. Now caving to public pressure rather than hang on to a punter.

This whole thing makes me angry but then I think back to the craze over the Duke lacrosse rape scandal which was 100% a lie. The punter deserves his day in court and if nothing comes of it he should sue the Bills for wrongful termination.

Do you have insight into criminal investigation? Just curious, I don’t at all, but I read the DNA investigations with rape kits are incredibly accurate and quick. I’m surprised they haven’t found his DNA in or on her as well as the two other members…

For this much time to pass and no charges filed seems very odd

I'm uneducated about the matter do I won't respond, but these situations can just get so tricky

cops are notoriously good at getting rape kits tested...
also araiza literally caught on tape telling her to get tested for stds among so many other things

seems like the reason there havent been criminal charges filed is because the criminal investigation was being delayed (just like the college investigation) and the civil suit is an attempt to force the hands of those organisations in some way

and it seems like a common refrain from far too many people every time something like this comes up to ask why did they wait so long/why now? which given how often people ask that question maybe should give you a clue that actually it's not super common for these sorts of things to happen right away - it ignores the fact that society and the justice system is fundamentally hostile to victims of sexual violence

I honestly don’t know what this means. My wife is a Nurse Practitioner at a local hospital, she does not deal with this issue but has NP friends that oversea the kits and examinations. They are not done by cops and the chain of custody within the hospital is air tight. Maybe it differs from state to state with police conducting test but here they are required to be done in a medical facility by licensed provider.

I’m just curious why it’s delayed. My guess is something went wrong compiling evidence to pursue criminal charges.

My gut reaction was something along the lines of castrate Araiza, but we have only a small fraction of the story to this point. Additionally there is nothing wrong with asking questions that may dispute the alleged victims side of the story. I can appreciate the prosecutors taking their time as the next 20 years of this kids life could be in their hands. Just think it’s odd it’s taken so long, leads me to believe they don’t have the case.

i don’t know about your justice system, but the American justice system is hostile to everyone….. unless you’ve got serious money. Then you’ll probably survive it . Another reason I tend to avoid committing crimes, middle class bank account won’t get it done

Are the Steelers really playing their starters against the 4th string Lions in a meaningless game?? LOL… then TJ Watt dancing like he just broke a record or something for getting a sack against a grocery store worker

Was thinking the same thing. If he has a major injury, they will regret this decision.
