And not any kicker. The kicker that won many more games than HC did and basically kept him in the job.Kind of sad when your kicker takes more responsibility than the head coach
until the 4th quarter when we forgot to hand off to JK and Gus.No, we're just taking 8 minutes to score (if we score at all). Because there's no prevent defense in the red zone.
We'll do great between the 20s. Like we did all game.

For the last part, yes. What does "play sideline coverage" even mean? That you think the defense is going to widen so far that they're all going to the boundary? No. That's bush league. And anyway- this ignores that the clock doesn't stop when going out of bounds until 5 minutes left, so that reason goes out the window.
You play with outside leverage and funnel routes inside while maintaining leverage and dropping seven into coverage. Just play Cover 2/Cover 6 and funnel inside.
Fans have this idea that prevent defense is designed to give up easy completions and give up chunk plays as long as it keeps the ball inbounds. No, it's not. It doesn't seek to give up completions at all; it's just that if it does, they seek to tackle quickly. You still have safeties sitting 20 yards deep and linebackers taking away the seam. The Browns are not going to allow Huntley of all quarterbacks to hit a 20 yard throw.
And going for 15-20 yards requires Huntley to be able to hit a pass at 15-20 yards, something he did once all game.
And I'm not even suggesting the Ravens run the ball every single down or anything crazy, but the running backs were AVERAGING 8.0 yards per carry and got at least five yards on half their carries. To run the ball once to start the fourth is criminal. Huntley was indecisive, showed poor mechanics, and struggled to push the ball both outside and deep.
So our suggestion is to pass every down and not run at all to help keep the Ravens in manageable down and distance to keep the offense ahead of the chains? What a time to be alive.
Stout is doing ok, has a very good percentage of his kicks inside the 20 and is replacing a great punter. He has big shoes to fill. Oweh literally just turned 24 years old in the 2nd year of his contract. You guys need some patience. We have multiple examples of players who weren't good in year two of their rookie deal that are very good now, ie Queen, Bowser to name a couple.
Right, precisely the moment where what you do between the 20s doesn't matter anymore.until the 4th quarter when we forgot to hand off to JK and Gus.
With 50 minutes before that, we had plenty of time to score more points so that you actually had real time to run the ball.with 11 minutes left, we had plenty of time to run the ball.
Just one... trolling "fans" and calling out their hypocrisies and nonsensical "takes".Do you have any real life obsessive compulsive behaviors?
I don’t have the numbers to back this up and I feel like our resident numbers guy/expert-arguer will correct me for saying this but it seems like we run way more than we pass (based on eye test), so maybe a new OC with a change in offensive philosophy (extremely balanced or favoring more towards the pass) could persuade some pass catchers who are actually worth a damn?

I punt-kick rugby ball with more hang time and farther and in the direction I want it to go. Bare foot and on the sand beach.
Yep. We draft Hayden Hurst over Calvin Ridley.i agree we need to continue to aggressively attack the position
i find it hard to find any evidence that we've been drafting WRs to fit into a run first offense...
hollywood doesnt fit that mould, duvernay doesnt fit that mould, proche doesnt fit that mould, bateman doesnt fit that mould, wallace doesnt fit that mould...
boykin fit that mould but he was drafted to be a height-weight-speed freak on the outside, not to be a run blocker
i do think it's fair to say that until bateman (and with the exception of hollywood where i think this was a happy accident), route-running as a technical pro-ready aspect of a game has been largely undervalued in the grading of WR prospects by the ravens - i think that's partly why we've drafted guys who've struggled to translate straight away - i think there's been an over-focus on physical traits over general space/separation creation and less emphasis on YAC vs other teams who've found success with young non-1st round WRs
now I agree with that stat but I'm pretty sure the directional and precision punting will improve with more practice and more time. Kickers and Punters tend to get better with time.i hate that inside 20 stat because it's contextless and there's a major difference in skill and outcome between inside 20 and inside 10...

Mind boggling.

Even if true, this is a far worse look from Roman than what we saw from Harbs imo. Harbs tried to be positive and say everyone is working hard to improve and we have faith in all our guys. Roman just said yeah my guys need to suck less. Which they really do though. Just probably should've had a cleaner answer.
