The Random Thought Thread

I sometimes wonder how good Tua could have been if his insane father hadn't made him throw with the wrong hand? To become a top 5 pick and NFL starter when throwing with your weaker hand is incredible. You've got to imagine his arm strength and accuracy would be significantly better if he'd used his dominant hand all his life.

I wonder what his dad's motivation was in doing that. It's not like punter, where lefty QBs are in higher demand. It might well be jealousy - some parents just don't want their children to surpass them.

is that true?

why didnt he do the same with taulia then too lol?

If this is true, maybe it has something to do with the dominant eye. ie, if you are an archer and are right handed, but your dominant eye is your left eye, then you shoot left handed. I was 2nd in the state in Archery when I was 18 and shot competitive Archery for my entire childhood.

He has mentioned that Hasselbeck said he thinks the NFL is working on multiple scenarios.

1 scenario (Chiefs / Bills / Bengals)
#1 seed picks homefield or bye week and #2 seed gets what is remaining.

2nd scenario
If the Championship has a team that has played only 16 games and the game could change the win %, than that game could be on a neutral site.

Heres what I'd do:

- Announce the winner of Ravens/Bengals wins the AFC North. If Ravens win, they are the 3 seed with the Bengals getting the 5th seed. Buffalo and KC in that scenario would use the H2H Tirbreaker and Buffalo would be the 1 seed virtue of their win earlier this season.

- If Bengals beat the Ravens, they along with Buffalo and KC would use H2H and Conference record to determine seeds 1-3. Bills beat KC, but a win over the Patriots would secure them a better conference record over Cincinnati. That means Bills would be the 1 seed, the H2H tiebreaker between Cincinnati and KC determining seeds 2 and 3, which go to Cincinnati. So Bills, Bengals and Chiefs would be your top 3 in that order.

- Ravens would then be seeded normally which would be either the 5th or 6th seed. So now we potentially go to Jacksonville or Tennessee as the 5th seed or go to KC as the 6th seed.

yeah, I like that as well and it may be the most fair of them all.

That's not fair at all to Bengals. They could have won on Monday, then the Ravens win in week 18 would be meaningless as far as AFC North title goes.

I think they should play this weekend, not play the BUF/CIN game, and let winning % dictate all.

As I've said already, Cincy, KC and Patriots winning this weekend pretty much solves all your problems.

The boys will torture us by pulling it off Sunday. Then we’ll have all off-season to argue the what if of a home playoff game

The NFL will not play it. There is still a possibility they could make our game a winner-take-all game, but I'm not sure.

The best scenario imo is to call it a tie which would still put us a half game behind. Not sure how that would affect the whole AFC race.
Wait... So if they call it a tie this is the most likely scenario
1.Chiefs
2.Bills
3.Bengals
3.Ravens
5.Jaguars
6.Chargers
7.Dolphins
Would that just count us as the 4 seed?

Yeah but they could have lost on Monday meaning we the game Sunday would have been for the AFC North. So you can assume they would have won, but from our perspective is they could have lost and now we can't even win the division just because they played one less game? Both Buffalo and Cincinnati beat KC in the regular season, how fair is it to them they potentially have to go to KC instead of KC coming to them?

This is why the NFL should have restarted the game after he was taken to the hospital, played the game last night or tonight and pushed everything back a week from the start. Once it happened, there was nothing the players or league could do to change what happened. I could understand if he had died on the field, absolutely no way do you play the game again. Once he's in the ambulance and at the hospital, it's out of the League's and Player's hands. So give them time to recompose themselves and play again.

As another poster said, what's the difference whether they play Wednesday, Thursday, a week from now, next season. Just push everything back a week.
