Clearly the worst

it's a good question whether we're the worst
certainly in that conversation

jets to finish the year were pretty putrid
browns offence was abysmal
raiders offence
broncos offence
the entire AFC South outside of the Jags sucked too

we're in that mix for sure but hard to say we're the worst i'd say

what's scary is that's half the conference

I have said for literally years Josh Allen is so overrated it's ridiculous. He never gets criticized for poor play
Justin Herbert doesn't, either. The defense gifted them FIVE turnovers, a +5 margin, and they lost. They scored one touchdown that didn't start in Jaguars territory.

A lot of people are criticizing the Chargers play calling due to the run/pass imbalance, but...

The run game was averaging like 2.0 yards per carry. That's not conducive to first downs.
I remember when the Falcons botched the Super Bowl by not running the ball and the narrative was, "You want the ball in the hands of your best player and Matt Ryan didn't deliver." Hell, even Ravens fans weren't solely irate with the defense for their multiple blown fourth quarter leads because of the offenses failure to put the game away. Just funny how the narrative shifts depending on the player.

I love Herbert because I'm a big Ducks fan and I'm glad he's come in and played better than the media expected, but he does not get any criticism at all.

Agreed, but was talking about among the playoff teams.

Yeah it's funny. The media just decides who people are and then they have to stick to it instead of being dynamic and intelligent

coz he's the media darling who makes 2 or 3 extraordinary throws every single game that almost no other QBs can make

i really think joe lombardi is one of the worst OCs/playcallers in the league and has been almost single-handedly holding that offence back...

but herbert should shoulder some of the blame as well for constantly falling short in big moments (much like the chargers organisation has over and over and over)

Nice to know that I'm not the only Ducks fan on this forum. But yes, the Chargers do get a lot of criticism, but Herbert tends to avoid it. It's frustrating because Lamar would get crucified if he had a game like that.

In general if you look at the AFC North, none of our rivals are pushovers. That being said if we have a healthy Lamar Jackson we should not fear any of them

with lamar we had a chance to go 6-0 in the division this year

steelers should be better next year
browns better hope that watson's just out of practice or they're gonna suck for a few years to come (would be well deserved)
bengals have an important offseason ahead of them - they have a similar amount of cap space (both actual and effective) as we had before we signed Roquan - they've got bates, bell and apple to deal with as free agents in that secondary, pratt, hurst, perine and an OL in tatters again

with the state of our roster right now, as long as we can make lamar's extension happen, we should be a better team in 2023 than 2022

Agreed and you haven't even considered what they're doing with Burrow yet. Or Chase or others

they had a great free agency group going into the 2021 season but hard to do that over and over again bringing in other teams' free agents and they've obviously hit home runs with their highest picks Burrow and Chase (with Higgins and Wilson in there too in 2020) but they've not been the greatest drafting team the last few years and it may be that that bites them a little over the next couple of years if they're not careful

that's why i say this is a really important offseason for them to get right too

stakes are nothing like this offseason for the ravens... but not insignificant either

2-5 since 2013 in the playoffs. That’s good for 28%. In translation, that’s near the bottom in the league. But I’m happy that people are glad we just make it there. Not like actually winning is important
