The Random Thought Thread

Agreed. I wouldn't have a problem playing JAX in the playoffs.
I honestly kind of just want to avoid all of the AFCN teams. None of them have QBs that scare me, but all of them have defenses that do. JAX losing Lawrence opened a window for Cleveland to win this week, and they have a very favorable schedule.

My hope was that the AFC South teams (Houston and Indy) would emerge and get in over CLE and PIT. Still may happen, but Lawrence's injury I think significantly increases Cleveland's chances of making the playoffs.
Steelers I think are going to play themselves out.
Yea I want nothing to do with Pitt. For as bad as their offense is, they seems to always get the bead on Lamar defensively.

i like our chances vs every afc team right now except dolphins.. we can def beat them but our mistakes on offense may give tyreke too many opportunities.. at this point, it really depends on lamar. If he gonna be with that pocket sitting for 10 secs bs, we might be in trouble

Hill scares the shit out of me. No idea who’s covering him. Even with safety help he just burns everyone

Our D line / pass rush will have to make a difference in that game. Must stop rookie back and get to Tua. That'd make life easier on secondary.
And we need to run a lot.

The great equalizer like Brady back in the days. Get pressure with the front four and it’s a completely different ballgame

rb1 and no.1 target I'd be very surprised
Well there's a bunch of teams missing franchise QBs, who are obviously exponentially more valuable than the totality of both of those two.

Many teams have had quality RBs on IR for portions of the year, some of them have lost them for the entire season (Browns) and others have had high quality Olineman, WRs, or defensive players on IR for large chunks of the year.

losing andrews and dobbins is like mahomes losing pacheo and kelce , or a team like miami losing tyreek, eagles losing aj

Well, not really. Pacheco yes, but KC wouldn't drop much if the lost Pacheco.
Andrews and Kelce aren't comparable. Andrews wasn't the top target in this offense, and this team has multiple first round WRs available if he's not around. KC doesn't have that.

Andrews would be the equivalent of losing Waddle for Miami, or Philly losing Devonta Smith or Dallas Goedert (which they did lose the latter).

Im not comparing whos better im simply saying what losing someone like andrews would be like for other teams

is andrews not lamar #1 target? thats the equivlenet of losing tua no.1 target hill, mahomes #1 target kelce, hurts #1 brown

I know everyone wants to feel we are the victims of bad luck and random conspiracies against the team

But it is time to admit that we have insane amounts of luck so far this season

- No season-ending injuries since week 2-3
- Few significant injuries at all
- Almost every opposing QB gets injured before or during our games
- Having a bye week and every result goes our way, and not just one, but two coming opponents lose their QBs

Time to stop playing the victims. We had a right to do that in '21. Not this year
Mark Andrews.....?

What on earth do you mean KC wouldn't drop much if the lost pacheco? He's literally what they have to rely on since Mahomes doesn't have steady receivers. Also, Andrews and Kelce def are comparable because who had more touchdowns hmm?

Flowers is Lamar's #1 target this year. Though not by a huge margin. Was getting ~1 target/game more than Andrews.

They're not equivalent, because not every #1 target is equal. Flowers and Andrews are very close in terms of targets. There's really no clear #1 in this offense.
The gap in targets for the group you listed is wider.

so the Chiefs could still run the ball without Pacheco. They ran the ball fine last year, and they used a bunch of different RBs to do it. Would they be better without him? No, but they're not dropping out of SB contention by losing Pacheco.

Andrews got 6 targets/game. Kelce gets 9 targets/game. They're not the same impact on the offense. Andrews wasn't even the highest targeted player on his own team when he went out. Not only is Kelce the focal point of that offense, he gets a LOT more targets than even the next closest pass catcher on his own team.

Andrews is a great player. But you guys are smoking some really bad crack if you think they have similar impacts on an offense. The entire Chiefs offense runs through Kelce. They can barely function without him. That's not even remotely the case with Andrews.

Obviously, losing Mark was a big blow, but we're fortunate that Ricard, Likely and Kolar are here. And we have a great group of WRs to also pick up the slack.

For me losing JK wasn't a big deal as we really don't know how he would have played. Gus, Keaton and Justice are a really good group anyway. And if Dobbins hadn't gone down chances are Keaton wouldn't still be here.
