Fuck them all Flaccos
think the players got it mostly right tbh
i thought he did have an interviewJust find it interesting that Roman in his first full season as our OC never once received HC interest despite his record breaking offense in 2019, yet Monken in his first year as OC for us in a still elite, but non-record breaking offense is. Just a random thought.
From what I know, he interviewed at 49ers back in the day for HC (I think in 2014), Browns 2019 and had an invite from Stanford in 2022.i thought he did have an interview

I wanted Slowik. even with Monken doing well, I still think he would've been the better hire.I remember last season the Ravens had two interviews with Dave Canales, the former QB coach for the Seahawks. Well he just finished up his first year as OC for the Bucs and did really well with Baker Mayfield at the helm.
I think we may have been looking to hire a coach who not only would be good but also would be with Lamar for years. Did we give Slowik an interview? I don't think we did and I liked him as well.I wanted Slowik. even with Monken doing well, I still think he would've been the better hire.
LOL I don't think the league needs a shot of anything. They're kicking ass and taking names on an annual basis. The only changes they'll be looking into is how to logistically expanding globally.Very bored on a long flight today and I started thinking about NFL division realignment based on location. I came up with:
Conference 1
Seattle, San Fran, LA, LA
AZ, Vegas, Denver, KC
Minn, GB, Chicago, Det(stays the same)
Indy, Cinci, Cleve, Pitt
Conference 2
Houston, NO, Dallas, Tenn
Atl, Jax, TB, Miami
Car, Bal, Wash, Phili
Buf, NY, NY, NE
I like the proximity and rivalry aspect. Would give the NFL the shot of life it needs.
If I recall, he was given an interview... but yeah Monken is good not great, and so I do see how that works better.I think we may have hired a coach who not only would be good but also would be with Lamar for years. Did he even get an interview?
I like how Monken isn't stuck to a particular scheme and designs offenses around the players. Of course Slowik is a Shanahan deciple, which isn't a bad thing. If I recall, he was given an interview... but yeah Monken is good not great, and so I do see how that works better.

Yes. well that's good for us, isn't it? cause if they hire him over some of the better candidates, well the other teams are worse, and we have better chancesTrouble is, when we win the super bowl teams will be lined up for both coordinators. Teams are already interested in Monken

Yeah. I mean I was thinking about the Harbaugh coaching tree, and really only like Rex Ryan and Jim Caldwell(and Bruce Arians if you count that) have really gone on to be much of anything, and that shows something. He's a great coach, but coordinators, well this is about the best coordinators we're ever gonna have.I mean, depends on who we hire to replace him lol. More often than not we've hired the Roman (I've seen people defending him... Like come on man, REALLY??), Morninwheg, Trestman types of OCs than the Kubiak and Monken ones
he has changed what he is doing regarding coordinators and assistants and casting a wider net. Anthony Weaver has also helped with the defensive side of the ball in finding assistants. I think we will be fine and I also feel Monken will still be hear in 2024 and beyond.Yeah. Also depends. Historically, part of the "struggle" for SB coordinators is that teams don't want to wait a month to hire somebody. Ideally, MM and Monken are banging out all of their interviews this week, basically I'm not sure they'll interview much, if at all, after, until we lose.Trouble is, when we win the super bowl teams will be lined up for both coordinators.
