Our main weapon was too young and inexperienced for the moment. I hope like hell he learns from it instead of letting it in his head. That penalty then fumble was literally what lost us that game, created a desperate situation for the offense and it spiraled from there, right as the defense woke up. We wouldn’t roll to a win, not even guaranteed we win, if zay doesn’t fumble, but damn things were looking up when we thought zay was about to score, momentum was seriously turning, at our stadium, in the afc championship, when our defense was absolutely on fire, it would’ve been a really tall task for them to go back and forth with us in that situation.

Shit wild man!! Last year was really suppose to be our year.. only gonna get tougher here on out. Always disliked first year coaches. knocks the confidence out of me for teams and now, cause of zay, i dislike 1st year players.. only when it comes down to when experience though

I’ll say it again, 2011 was supposed to be our year too. It’s not about when you have your best roster, it’s about making sure you’re competitive and in the dance every year, every year there’s different scenarios, you’re gonna catch a break one year, the ball is gonna finally bounce your way, the refs are gonna finally let you play, you’re gonna have a matchup advantage one year that you wouldn’t get any other year, spagnuolo is finally gonna call the wrong play and you actually execute against it, etc. etc.

If we are healthy, level headed, balanced, the OL is respectable and the WRs don’t drop passes, we will have a shot at it every single year, the more shots we have the better our odds of making one.

Idk why you tried to fool yourself. You know damn well if Lamar is healthy we’re a lock for 10 wins. The attachment and “this might be our year” was coming no matter what

The Zay play never bothered me. Guy was just trying to make a football play, shit happens. When that game gets brought up all I can think about is 1. Lamar catching his own pass(cool) 2. Harbs refusing to run the ball(not cool) 3. Lamar throwing into triple coverage(not cool)….. still hurts :(

Likely could’ve possibly made that catch if he wasn’t interfered, but I still maintain Lamar had no sense whatsoever making that throw, just don’t do it, not in that moment.

And zay was trying to make a big play, but instead of diving, get low, get physical and churn those damn feet like you never have before. That’s the correct way of trying to make that play, diving with the ball extended is always a reckless and desperate play, that exact outcome is the risk and it’s not that out of the ordinary for it to happen. Just not worth it. If you’re strong enough then you score, if not then trust your squad to punch it in from the 1.
