The Random Thought Thread

There are 32 head coaching jobs in the world. If he gets offered one, he’ll take one. Just as 99.9% of the other coaches in the league would.
Probably a safe assumption, but you never know what his life situation might be.

Agreed we don’t know, but we can probably infer the reality of the situation. There are very few guys that would pass up a HC job.
True. But he’s working on a pretty well oiled machine here and Steve has deep pockets. After we win the SB this season Monk may want to stay to help in building the dynasty!

you could say the same about many coordinators that get head coach jobs, ie Mike Mac. Maybe they all can't build a dynasty but they are normally running well oiled machines.

It’s still early, but I feel compelled to come here and give Faalele some flowers for now. I’ll admit I was saying after week 2 that I saw no plausible way he was going to be a halfway competent G and he’s shut me up recently. I was wrong. Hope his stock keeps rising.

definitely worth mentioning the level of competition has gone down from the first couple of weeks
but hard to say that he hasnt massively improved when you turn on the tape - the way he's getting out of his stance, the way he's moving in space, the way he's processing line games, the way he's winning at the point of contact... all massively improved from early in the year

he and RR have become a really promising duo on the right side - yes there are inconsistencies but also tons of promising reps to hang your hat on

Gotta give the FO and coaching staff credit on this one as well. They came in with a patient approach and said they wanted to get younger, knowing the early returns might not be great, but thinking they'll get better with reps. Still a long ways to go but it's trending the right direction.

Mikey was with the Ravens for 10 years, started as an intern with Harbs. Monk is 20 years farther down the road than him, maybe he has a different agenda.

Regardless of what we may think at times, and while nobody bats 1.000, they are some of the best in the business.

yes I'm aware of that and it's possible that he wants to be an assistant, but not probable.

the only thing i'd second guess is why they wouldnt just start with RR at right tackle to begin - you could argue that decision contributed to the raiders loss

sucks to be vorhees but ultimately his injury has made the OL much stronger

Its like everyone is having fun but then you see lamar and andrews, theyre serious this year lol. Them boys must be on a mission lol.
