The Random Thought Thread

It’s rare that cb won’t be a need for literally any nfl team. You need 3 starters, and you need at least 2 quality depth guys, being short on that count on any given week almost means you can forget about winning against a quality opponent. Good ones are very expensive, and they often switch teams because their market is so competitive.

If a cb is clearly the best player available, then he’d be a wise pick for 32/32 teams.

Wiggins was the BPA by a wide margin, and Stephens had 1 year left under contract, making him not only a wise choice but the obvious choice, there was no other option there. Even if Stephens continued his form from last year Wiggins was the obvious choice. You could’ve extended Stephens had he played well and had 3 starting corners, or you can move on from Stephens since he’s ass and you gotta replace cb3 instead of cb1/2.

Hamilton, well we had signed Marcus Williams who was good at the time, but everyone else was mid at best, and we knew that, chuck and stone, whatever, they were serviceable but we knew we were playing with fire not having a better starter, and Hamilton was possibly the best player in that entire class and he was picked at 14, no brainer, there was no other choice.

It’s less about BPA in this discussion, and more about just making the completely obvious decision.

Everything you said is true and to piss off the Washington Commanders who absolutely wanted Hamilton and traded down because they thought for sure we were going to go with Jordan Davis. They obviously didn't see the Eagles jumping our pick to get him.

I loved Davis in this draft, but also didn't see Hamilton falling all the way to us. Hamilton was my favorite player in this class.

Not only that but Darby and RYS so our depth at CB was getting thin like a MF. Helps that we doubled up and drafted Tampa. Who knows what he'll become but glad we have SOME sort of depth.

With Williams and Eddie Jackson likely gone, safety is most certainly gonna be a top need.

Agreed with all of this, but I’ll add it was still a need. Might not have been one immediately, but Stephens a FA and Marlon coming off of another injury filled year… we were going to need to go CB at some point.

we better get the Browns with DTR

If the Bills don’t win today Chiefs lock up number 1 seed and have no incentive to play everyone vs the Steelers on Xmas

Darby was decent last year but RYS was awful when he played.

I want the bitch ass Bills in the playoffs

We sure the MVP race is over? Allen needed his defense to bail him out against one of the worst teams in the league

Is Lamar now the front runner for MVP or has Vegas already cooked the books for Allen to be MVP with the voters? The only way Allen is even mentioned can only mean serious collusion.

Not just this game. Several games now. Do we realize how many games the Ravens D lost us games? Plenty! This is meant for the Dan Orlovskys of the world, who actually has a vote! Dang!

according to Adreme, it's over
Truth be told, gentlemen, I really don't give a shit if Lamar wins MVP ever again until he wins a SB. I stopped caring about regular season awards and accolades after the AFCCG.

I believe if Barkley breaks Eric Dickersons rushing record, which he is on pace to do, then he deserves to win the MVP. I'd say he deserves it even if he's just over 2k without breaking the record.

Dickerson's record is 2105. He has 1,838 yards. He needs 267 more yards.

Dickerson did it in 16 games though.

Still can't fathom what Marcus Williams l' problem is. He didn't forget how to play. He's also a guy who is supremely confident. It just doesn't make sense

yeah, this one really gets me as well. He played well last year when he came back from injury, even though he could only tackle with one arm. I'm wondering if it's something deeper than we can imagine. Something personal not pertaining to football at all.

Has to be.
