I can see it now.. “ is baker mayfield the best qb from the 2018 draft class”….

You’re not wrong, many are already acting like Lamar has fallen off and must be the reason we’re 1-5
We're in a prisoner of the moment society. They did the same thing when Lamar was out in Dec. 2022 and he had to remind them what kind of stud he was when he had that MVP caliber season in 2023.

Yeah that offense is really in a good spot. Offensive line has improved a lot, and they have a good group of WRs with Rashee Rice back. Run game sucks though but I think it will get better over time. Their defense is still elite. Pains me but I think they should be the favorite to win it all this year.
Im liking lions but at same time i cant bet on new coaches in their first season to win it all

Even fans turned against lamar lol. “ he was faking injury and gave up on the team”…
“ he isnt worth 250 million”..

Throw in the refs and they’re unbeatable

I think some people are misreading that chart as if it saying how often do these QBs see pressure and not when they leave why are they leaving

Yep, it’s how often they leave the pocket and when. Some QBs remain in the pocket more often when pressured.

This is going to sound stupid but what is pressure? After how long is it considered pressure? What if theres a clean pocket and the qb holds the ball then a man gets beat after 3 seconds?

Cause some of these people I see with ample time and do nothing with it... looking at you hurts

different places have different metrics
pff and some other places chart pressures and sacks by attributing blame including to the QB

typically it's about affecting the QB within a certain time threshold - the specifics of which differ depending on the specific place doing the charting - some places look at an effect on the QB, some places look at a sphere of influence/distance to the QB e.g. how close were you to the QB when they threw the ball etc.

not all pressures are created equal obviously
in your example, depending on the organisation charting, that scenario would either not be recorded as a pressure, or would be recorded as a pressure but the pressure would be assigned to the QB

Pressures have become a highly subjective metric.
I also love when people realize that pressures doesn't always equate to the Oline not doing their job. Lions had (allegedly) 30 pressures against Lamar, yet less than half of them were charged to the Oline. That means that the remaining pressures were charged to RBs, TEs, and yes, Lamar himself. QBs can very much be responsible for their own pressures.

I wonder if Lamar is creating pressures with his deep drops.
