Joe Flacco

#LamarSZN

In what world do you think we have a realistic shot at the playoffs? We still have to play the chargers and chiefs on the road which are almost certain Ls and we are an egg laying team and we will lay another egg at some point. We aren’t gonna finish 5-2 with joe, rg3, or lamar, and if it comes down to rg3 or lamar, I have absolutely no idea why you think rg3 gives us a better chance. If our offense takes off with rg3 at qb it will almost certainly be because rg3 might boost the run game, and that involves a shitload of moving parts too, and if the run game and read option playbook is what saves our season, give me lamar over rg3 all day, lamar has always been more poised and aware in the pocket, he looked more nfl ready at Louisville due to his pocket presence than rg3 looked 2 seasons in, and as a runner they aren’t even in the same universe.
Why wouldn't you mention Falcons? I really hate that everybody on this board has us winning in ATL, more or less easy.
That's just a wishful thinking.

All through this bye, I've wanted to see Lamar this weekend. Then this illness crops up and I now worry that he both won't be at 100% and hasn't gotten enough reps. I'm concerned he may not be our best option.

It may be narrow minded, but I think pretty much anybody but Flacco right now. One of the guys on GMFB was saying Harbaugh was going to ride his tried and true guy rather than take a leap into the unknown. Another responded that yes, he's going to ride him all the way to another 8-8 finish and to the end of his job. "This team needs the defibrillator" ... really well said. Anything to attempt to jump a pulse into this team.

If Lamar isn't well and hasn't had enough prep, I want RGIII out there. I simply don't want to see Joe under center again for the Ravens. Now, if they put him out there and we win - not just this game but win enough to punch our ticket - I may be eating these words. However, Lamar achieved the same, it would be infinitely better than doing it with Joe.
Why would winning be "better" with Jackson than Flacco? Very interesting.

I knew there was another one and I couldn’t think of it off the top. I have us losing all 3, balances offenses with a clear cut elite #1 and more quality targets tend to eat us alive, Bengals, Saints, Steelers, back when dez was still good the cowboys killed our solid streak in 2016, yeah I don’t feel good about it

Because Flacco’s days are numbered and we don’t give a shit about seeing Flacco finish 8-8 again when we can see lamar.

I’d rather see lamar go 6-10 than see Flacco go 8-8. Every lamar game would be worth watching, while Flacco’s would feel like re-runs, and we get just a hair further away from mediocrity by not having a draft pick between 18-14 and maybe creep up near 10

Preach Kanye! Preach!

We hope Lamar is our future. If he achieves a playoff run, it will be clear that he IS our future. We know Flacco is not our future. Winning with Flacco will just cloud the future. Should we keep him on, or move on, etc.

That's why I not only said it would be better, but infinitely better.

You mean in the way Flacco hits it on a regular basis?

Considering Brown has basically been the Ravens offense...ya and none his plays I have confidence Lamar can make. Maybe he can but he hasn't yet and I'm saying he can't, I'm saying the last time I saw him try he didn't

HOPE is the operative word here. I'm afraid people are building their hopes to a level he can never attain. He very well could have been a 2nd round pick and the past is littered with a long list of highly touted 1st rounders that were busts. Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell, Akili Smith, and the list goes on and on.

You know what that means? That means exactly fuck all for any given player. You wouldn't take unbelievably talented but not polished guy because Ryan Leaf was a mental case?

How the fuck do you know what levels can Lamar, or any other player, attain? Looking at crystal ball or something?

People are getting awfully worked up about a backup NFL QB. Interesting.

except i dont know what you're looking for...
he hit every throw with good placement and timing, he took what the defence gave him and moved the ball downfield

he demonstrated an ability to read the field and not just take his 1st read, he did something flacco never does which is change his delivery angle to avoid deflections, he showed good movement in the pocket on that TD to Hurst - and yes the defence was soft and he had a cushion to hit - but he also threw it to a spot that no defender would have had a chance even in tight coverage

I'm not bashing him for beating up soft coverage but I will explain what I mean better

Divide the field in 3 left to right :left, middle, right. Then divide it into 3 distance wise: short medium and long. That totals 9 blocks. I have confidence that he can hit from the pocket, all 3 shorts and medium middle. I have no confidence in anything other than that because the last time I've seen him try any of those it went badly.

Now its been several months so maybe he can now but until he does a thing successfully I previously saw him fail at, I can't say he can do it

Hey, what ever you want to think, but I guarantee the coaches and players aren’t thinking that way and in reality they are the guys that matter.

I think one day I’ll be able to attain millions in wealth and assets, doesn’t mean it’s realistic nor does it mean it’s gonna happen
