Joe Flacco

Unless the wheels fall off the wagon this year
Even if that's the case this year I don't think we're going to move on yet, his cap number drops dramatically after next season and that's when the saving open up. I think in the eyes of the FO he will get a minor pass because of his back injury to go along with the injuries suffered by the OL.

When I checked into my hotel earlier today, I asked the guy assisting me and my wife with our bags the question; "So man! How you think we're going to do tomorrow against those Steelers?" With no hesitation, he dropped his head and said; "Maaaan! With Joe Flacco and how poorly he plays, who knows?" I then teased him and said, "I'm a Ravens fan that drove up from Chesapeake, VA to watch this game and you LIVE HERE and are FROM HERE (Baltimore) and you're shaking your head about the QB man?" He went on to say; "Flacco is horrible man! I'm sorry! But I have to call it as I see it and he is garbage!"

So, you are not by yourself when it comes to not having confidence in Flacco. There are many people (myself included) that have no trust or confidence in that dude. But, I'll be cheering him and the entire team on tomorrow because; "The enemy (Flacco/Ravens) of my enemy (Steelers) is my friend!" :D

Lol, I've been seeing a lot of Ravens fan personally who has been down on him. I'm going to root for him and I really hope he does better, for one I really like the guy and I don't want to see us look for a new QB again, that was painful and I wouldn't want to see us go back to that, with that said if he continues on this path then he's going to leave you with no choice. I'm really hoping he proves me wrong and completely shreds Pittsburgh but like I said my confidence in him is almost dead so I seriously have my doubts that it will come to fruition.

Way I see it is we need to actually give him a running game again for us to be somewhat palpable. Roman was a good start but we need a workhorse dude at the RB position and a good offensive line. Flacco has never been the type of QB who makes everyone around him better. He needs talent around him. Literally, we fix this oline and find a good RB next year, along with drafting a potential replacement QB either for immediate replacement, or for the future if he gets his shit together. That's our offseason next year. That's what I think. Even if he continues this shit, I still think he's capable of a bounce back year next year.

As it stands, the Ravens sit at fifth in total rush yards per game, .7 behind fourth place. I also would call the group of skill players Flacco has at receiver/tight end decently talented.

No, the offensive line isn't great, but they're not doing as poorly as I expected, sans the Jaguars game. I suppose the Steelers game will tell us more about the post-Yanda days.

But Flacco really doesn't have too many excuses this year.

I think the Jaguars game is a massive outlier personally. The entire team sans two corners and punter shit the bed.

I still think we can beat pittsburgh, though it's unlikley that we do so because injuries. I also think post-Yanda we're gonna struggle a hell of a lot more. We're potentially screwed in that facet imo. Flacco might have a bounce back game, but Heyward, Tuitt, Harrison, and Watt are gonna cause problems for the line.

I do think we need to start looking for his replacement regardless whether immediate or in the future. And this is the ideal draft to do it. Rosen, Darnold, Allen, Falk, Rudolph, all have traits of potential franchise QBs and there are more potential guys if they declare. Rosen imo is the best fit for the team but that's a pipe dream(I know you like him. But he's got a cannon, can throw deep on a line, can look off safeties, is decently mobile, lines up under center, very acccurate, but needs some work. I think Falk is the guy for us in the second round. Good arm, accurate, can move, look off safeties, call plays at the line. Needs to get bigger though and his arm is only passable by NFL standards(think Peyton manning. Strong enough to make all the throws, but not good enough to throw 70+ yards downfield on a line). But I think in a WCO offense he's an ideal fit.

But that said, I also feel as if he's capable of a bounce back year though. Especially if we can get someone to hopefully light a fire under his ass.

I think the running game issue is that you don't have someone that a defense fears. No one is going to stack the box on any of our RBs and that's a problem to a certain extent. I think the FO will give him a minor pass but it's going to be do or die for him. The NFL is a what have you done for me lately league and in the pass four years his resume hasn't been great. I don't think the cap issue is going to stop them from looking for a QB, they're going to force their way into finding one if they think an elite talent is there. Even going back to the 08" draft, the Ravens were really the only team that highly regarded Joe, and we picked him at 18 because we were so worried that another team had the same idea as us. Point is, the Ravens and or other NFL team will find their QB one way or the other. You're always going to have a QB who goes much higher than people expect because of just how far a team will go to find their guy.

I don't think it means rebuild either, I think we're going to continue to build a strong roster/team, I just personally believe there will be significant changes in the coaching staff and QB, but everyone else remains and the Ravens try to make a playoff push with whoever plays QB for them in 2019 if things fall apart.

An option I think we have this year though is to put pressure on him. People say the issue with the Ravens is the lack of leverage against him, but their best bet is to make leverage. I know people wouldn't be fond of it but you can take a QB early in round 1 or 2 and that could be a way to get your point across. The Chiefs did it with Alex Smith and look how aggressive he is this year.

Personally I'm scared of getting a new QB. You know how long it took us to find Joe? Say what you want about him being inconsistent and shit, but he brought stability to the position.

I hope we can find someone better obviously, but that's a hard thing to do. People keep talking like these franchise QBs grow on trees. they don't. That's why they're so damn expensive.

That said, finding the replacement is necessary. Next season is make or break for him imo. Damn shame too. I liked him. He just appears to have lost it.

I understand that finding a QB is stressful but the problem is that Joe isn't playing good enough to make you completely avoid that type of circumstance. A lot of people talk about continuity but that doesn't matter if you're continually underwhelming, that's when it all gets thrown out the window. It's definitely make or break it for him next year and if he doesn't step it up then his time here is done.

Don't disagree at all..

But this could turn out to be "don't know what you've got till it's gone" moments.

I still think Flacco bounces back at some point: But this week isn't it. Oline without Yanda going up against a solid front 7, and they have Joe Haden who owns Flacco. Just dont see it. Will be glad if he proves me wrong though.

That's what happens when fans run teams.... God the skins are fucked. Enjoy one more year of Kirk Cousins before he fucks off to San Francisco.

I could see them realising how screwed they are and paying the 34m for one more year while desperately trying to get a deal.

I don't disagree that it could be one of those moments, but I also believe strongly that if you continue on that route, you can miss out on some players who can change your franchise. You just can't be afraid of moments like that.

Well. Good job Flacco. You're literally the biggest reason we lost today.

Fucking hell. Just solidify the oline in free agency and trade up for Josh Rosen and call it an offseason

Yeah man, that Collins fumble had nothing to do with it.
Missing TC and the preseason had nothing to do with it.
Steelers living in our backfield had nothing to do with it.

He had an abysmal first half but that O line killed our comeback. What did you want him to do? Sure he could have thrown it away but what good would that do us? We were out of time. He was trying to make something happen with a sub par receiving corps and Steelers in his face all day.
