Joe Flacco

Ahh okay thanks. I heard it while driving home and was only half paying attention but I didn’t think it sounded like Harbaugh. I guess we’ll see if it happens or not

as much as i want it to happen, i dont think it happens unless we lose after the bye - playing lamar for a whole series would be a tacit acknowledgement that this season is no longer about the playoffs and is in fact about developing lamar (obviously if the drives go well this is less of a problem and maybe they can have their cake and eat it too - the challenge is if lamar gets backed up or makes a mistake, do they leave him in to fix it or does joe come back on the field in that same series?)

the politics behind a decision like this would be interesting - i suspect lamar wont get a full series in the next game we play but if we're out of contention i think we'll see more and more of him

i hope it does, just to see where lamar is with his development and how he runs the offense. if he plays great that series things get interesting
Trouble is - one series won't tell hell of a lot either way.
Need much bigger sample over time to see how much, if any, progress is Lamar making.

honestly, im just excited to see lamar. he opens up so much, just off his ability to extend plays. if we're gonna keep losing, i'd rather lose with someone who should be making rookie mistakes.
Damn you really did joe like that lol

lol i love joe, but when you have a talented 1st rd QB behind you, it magnifies your mistakes, then you add losing on top of those mistakes, and it makes it worse. honestly a lot of his problems i wouldnt even pay much attention to (and probably make excuses) if we didnt have lamar, but we do, and it makes you wonder what can he do. honestly if that wasnt lamar in motion and it was john brown, you think joe wouldve looked ?

I love this. This has been the definition of Flacco's career in a nutshell.

Damn, 2:00 is egregious. Dude is killing us.
I noticed it all game. Hes late, not recognizing coverages, staring down recievers like on that 3rd and 10 that everyone blamed Marty for. All those plays were on Flacco, not Marty. Guys are getting open in the passing game, the running game still sucks but if Flacco was on his game, we wouldve won Sunday

Like i said. A lot of the bad pass plays werent from Marty. It was Joe making a poor read or throw

buck is wide open on that last play - but even without that i remember watching this play live and thinking he put the ball in the only place where the DB had a chance at it - he just has to put it higher or further to the outside or deeper into the endzone - it's crazy how bad the ball placement there is

at this point - and im not exaggerating - i think lamar reads the field better than joe does - joe throws the prettier passes but im not sure he's better at solving the defence which is crazy in year 11 - and even if he does - the fact that it would even be a question is ridiculous - simple things like keying in on a linebacker's movements and reading the whole field at multiple depths (which is the sort of thing lamar was doing in college) seem to be so hit and miss with joe

and in other games this year he's had successful throws to receivers on plays where he had a different receiver even more open for a bigger play

post-snap recognition should not be this bad on a consistent basis from joe

EDIT:
also @Edgar I think this is some of the best analysis you've done yet

I remember vs the Saints he had Maxx wide open for a would be touchdown and he throws a 15 yard crosser instead. Its like he cant read anything unless its his first option

And this isnt even including the missed TD pass to Crabtree and missing Jackson wide open in the flat.
Someone with a lot of time on their hands should go through games over several years and reveal how depressing it really was, while majority of our board kept making fun of most other QBs (including Matty Ice, Wilson, etc).
