Joe Flacco

yes which is why i gave you a list of dbs first
but that post was literally a response to one in which you mentioned CJ Mosley... so you literally brought up the other positions - i just responded lol
If i brung up cj i didnt mean too i didnt mean in the
Post lol. My problem has been with bama dbs.. they are all literally the same every yr imo. Super athletic, fast and play very well when the play is in front of them. Thats no coincidence, bama always have a dangerous front seven so saban knows exactly what type of guys he wants/need in his secondary.. ive never not seen an agressive, fast, athletic bama defender.

i liked minkah as a S coming out.. my problem with him was at cb. Hearing all this hype about him being the best cb, yet everytime you watch him, he is getting beat at cb.

and yet that is demonstrably not true if you watch him on sundays - he is not getting beat... over the last 5 weeks he has allowed a total of 4 receptions for 22 yards...

vs the packers he was targeted 3 times and allowed 1 reception for 0 yards - he has the lowest passer rating when targeted in the league this year (of all players not just rookies)

there are legitimately articles in miami about how fitzpatrick might be the best player on their roster already

All pro=best at his pos.. would you ever take collins over these other safties in the lg? Hell no..
So what makes that the only fucking qualifier for a good player who’s lived up to a first round billing?

Terrell Suggs must be a shit player, because there’s been a Jason Taylor, Demarcus Ware, and Khalil Mack spanning his whole career, sizzle was never truly the best in the league therefore he’s a bust.

Secondly... there aren’t too many strong safeties I’m taking over Landon Collins.

marlon humphrey had the 5th lowest passer rating allowed when targeted in the league in 2017 (and one of the guys ahead of him was jimmy smith)
minkah fitzpatrick leads the league with the lowest passer rating allowed when targeted in the league in 2018 so far
Landon Collins is an all-pro strong safety - the giants certainly dont want to get rid of him - they've been offered trades and have had none of it - they look set to franchise tag him this offseason too
eddie jackson has been unbelievably good at free safety despite being a 4th rounder

i literally dont see how you dont see this...

I also seen an article that said “ was minkah worth the pick”.. i dnt really pay attention to those passer ratings stats. Yea he has a low passer rating but id still take ward and maybe even jacskon over him. I feel like passer rating allowed should only be brought up when the comparisons are close, like nba rings. If we were comparing kobe and that mj dude.

i was talking about dbs, but what about hightower and mosley? are they good lbs to you? Cause theyre avg to me. I like payne and allen though. Only seen one game so far and theyre constanlty putting in work. but those dbs from bama, have not lived up to all that first round hype is all im saying.
Mosley is borderline great, if only we could stop forcing him to be what he's not. Needs to lose weight and get back to pro bowl.
I never cared much for Donta but he's been OK under BB.

Where are you hearing about Minkah being hyped as a CB. All I ever heard was a great DB which he really is - not many players can play every damn secondary position at that high level while calling plays, too.

Sizzle is a hof player that had been consistently great over his 30 yr career lol.. berry, tyrann, neal, kam k, jamal adams and maybe even amos from bears.

I was talking about while in college.. my bad shouldve been more clearer.

While we are on the subject of Bama DBs, one player undeservedly gets forgotten every time - Kareem Jackson had a pretty good career at Texans. Still going strong.

I feel like mosley has been ok for us. He played better with orr and daryl smith but maybe cause they covered up what he lacked? Or we were able to just play different as a group? Idk but he has been avg to me. We got bobby and luke who are in just light yrs ahead of everyone.. got dione jones who is in a lane of his own.. to be fair atleast mosley is better than kendricks and mcckinney who both got contracts that i feel wasnt worth it

ward's been great too...
why does ward being great make minkah not great?

you've given me no examples or stats or anything of any kind that suggests minkah has not been playing at a high level

you know what lol after giving that qualifier earlier i was wrong - minkah is now progressively playing more and more at corner and doing incredibly well there

so not only does he play well all over the secondary and call the plays - but he also plays specific spots as well as players who can only play 1 spot

And why the fuck are we discussing Alabama secondary in a Joe Flacco thread?

the below quote started the whole train... about 3 pages ago lol

HOPE is the operative word here. I'm afraid people are building their hopes to a level he can never attain. He very well could have been a 2nd round pick and the past is littered with a long list of highly touted 1st rounders that were busts. Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell, Akili Smith, and the list goes on and on.

Sounds like Snyder when he had Vinny Cerrato as GM. Maybe they were onto something.
