Joe Flacco

We gonna have to do this anyway since I don't believe Joe is gonna play a lot more years anyway. He just doesn't seem to be the type. I'm also not scared about using a 1st.
Could be right but Joe has been quoted saying he wants to play till 40. Obviously. wanting to and being able to are 2 different things.

I hope we aim for penn state running back in draft but he will probably go top 3. Joe flacco is done, we need a competitor at qb

I agree with @Lost_In_Translation. I haven't fully given up on Joe, but believe we need to start looking for a qb. That's said, it doesn't mean the new qb should start year one. They could be second string behind Joe for a year or two. We could find a way at the end of 2018 and it would be easier in 2019.

This is the draft to find a new qb also.
I'm not saying we do away with Flacco either if it means we are in cap hell. But, one way to make sure Flacco starts performing is to light a fire under him by drafting a QB really high just like KC did with trading up in the first round. That sent a clear message to Alex Smith who is playing like he is the best QB in the league. Not saying Flacco will do the same, but he won't be as lackadaisical in his attitude either. He needs some competition to thrive. If that doesn't work, then at least we have his replacement who we can throw into the fire. This upcoming draft our first pick must be the QB of the future.

If there was a valid way to do it, we would have done it by now. Hell, I can guarentee you some teams would trade a good amount for him thinking they can rehabilitate him(look at the niners. They can afford his cap hit, still have enough to reload the oline, and he's played in a scheme he's excelled in before given that Shannahan is a successful Kubiak disciple. We could get a sizeable haul from them in all likelihood. We're the problem: not them. And there's no other way to fix it because whoever negotiates and writes out our contracts(it isn't Ozzie btw. So this isn't really on him) NEEDS TO BE FIRED. HES A FUCKING IDIOT. These backloaded deals and overpays have killed us. That's killed us far more than any of these bad drafts.

We've been rebuilding if you haven't noticed. Front seven drastically changed, secondary changed, WR corps changed. Literally, we need an oline, and a bell cow running back(And the ability to stay healthy. Which has killed this team over the past several seasons), and we're contenders again. I'm still of the belief that if we give Joe a good running game, then the offense will be adaquate again, which is all we really need besides staying healthy.

And yes. The running game has been nonexistent since Kubiak left. There is no coincidence that Flacco's successful seasons have come when we have a strong running game present, and Flacco's worst seasons have been when we don't have a running game. Sure, his accuracy and mechanics need to be ressurected, but if we can fix this issues I think we're golden.

We may appear to be screwed in the short term(injuries do that to a team), but long term wise we've set ourselves up quite nicely.

I might write an article on it soon. Who knows.
You must be referring to Pat Moriarty the venerable so called cap guru of the Ravens who came to the team along with Ozzie and Kevin Byrne from the Browns. Something is awry with this team's cap handling such that it keeps us under constant cap hell despite not having the talent as other teams do. Cap management and injury management vis-a-vis the way practices are set up etc. needs to be reevaluated as well if we are to get back in contention.

You all will think I'm not serious but I really am. We need to find out when will Jalen Hurts declare himself for NFL draft and do whatever we need to do to get him in.

His play improved so much since freshman year, it is just incredible. Seldom makes wrong decisions, great arm that will only get better and when he finds room to run he's unstoppable. The most impressive is his mental strength and maturity. Absolutely unbelievable for 19 yo kid.

If we can sort out O line in next couple offseasons and get him in, we'd be set for next 10, maybe more years.

You're right. I do think you're not serious. He's another Denard Robinson type and is likely to be a RB in the NFL. Granted, he could be very good at RB but he looks to be a run first guy at QB.. Those guys don't work in the NFL for a long time. The best QBs in the NFL are the ones who can beat teams soley with their arms. Being able to run is nice, but even the mobile QBs in the nfl nowadays(Newton, Wilson) are clearly pass first guys and have touch and polish. Hurts I don't trust as a QB. He's a beneficiary of Alabama and Saban's ability to recruit amazing offensive linemen at the college level and always being able to find good recievers. He might have a good season as a rookie, but teams would figure him out eventually. In the NFL the linebackers and dlinemen would make his life a living hell. His WRs wouldn't be open on as many plays.

Then again, it's Ozzie. So it'll happen. He's trying to build the Alabama in the NFL. And while I like all buy one of the Alabama players I've scouted thus far, I don't think Hurts is a QB at the NFL level. RB? Sure... That could work out really well imo. QB? No.... Don't see it. I'd take Luke Falk over the dude every day of the week.

How many games have you watched him this year? Watched first half today vs Ole Miss? He is 10/15 passing for 193 yards and 2 TDs.
I'm not talking out the ass. There's a reason why Bama did with him what they did last year. This year transformation is phenomenal. Plus he is already allowed to call plays as he sees them.
Hurts is for real.

Not defending his poor play, but how many of the other QBs in the NFL had 0 reps in OTAs and training camp? Just think everyone needs to keep things in perspective.

Duly noted. Also take into account the total team meltdown in merry ole England and I think you see the point.

Of course you are. It's what you do! lol ;)

I sure hope that your boy Joe plays well and looks good in the process of "LEADING" the team in getting this "W" tomorrow!

I honestly doubt it at this point. I can't say I've fully turned my back on Joe, but we'd be foolish if we didn't start looking for a QB of the future soon. Given that other than the oline we don't have many needs next offseason would be ideal for that to work.
Yeah, my confidence in him is at an all-time low right now. He just doesn't seem dependable anymore and if things go on like this than I personally think we're going to be planning for his exit. IMO next year is make it or break it for him.

3. Haven't had the chance to watch Ole miss and I will see it when the tape comes out. I don't have anything more than basic cable and I have things to do right now.
Put him in an NFL pocket. Where he's not in the gun all the time. Against edge players who are as fast as he is and bigger. Against NFL corners who won't allow his WRs to be open on every down. Again, he's a damn good runner, and he's got a decent arm. But there's so much more to a QB than that. Half of the plays with him passing are with WRs that are either open beyond human belief(it is Alabama, they've always got themselves some good WRs).

Again, hes a damn talented runner. But he's not looking the part of a QB at the NFL level. He's ALWAYS go himself a clean pocket, takes most of his snaps out of the gun which gives him an even bigger advantage, doesn't really show an ability to look off a safety. He looks to run first on most plays. Sure the offense is designed that way, and it works in college. But there's a discernible difference between him an Luke Falk(who btw. I like Falk but he ain't a first round talent) let alone a Sam Darnold, Josh Allen or Josh Rosen. I doubt his abilities long term in a pro style offense. Especially where he won't have nearly as good of the supporting cast as he does now.

College wise. He's a fine QB. I don't think he can hack it as a pro

I don't think we take a QB this year unless it's someone we believe is an elite talent and our season goes up in flames. I think next year is do or die for him and if he underwhelms again then I think we end it right there and look for a QB regardless of who is there.

Normally, I would give this credence, but when Jay Cutler, DeShone Kizer, Josh McCown, Jameis Winston, and Scott Tolzien are all more efficient passers than Flacco -- a former Super Bowl MVP -- there's a problem.
There's just no excuses for that. Watson and McCrown are getting beat up, there's no reason for them to be preforming better.

Unless the wheels fall off the wagon this year

When I checked into my hotel earlier today, I asked the guy assisting me and my wife with our bags the question; "So man! How you think we're going to do tomorrow against those Steelers?" With no hesitation, he dropped his head and said; "Maaaan! With Joe Flacco and how poorly he plays, who knows?" I then teased him and said, "I'm a Ravens fan that drove up from Chesapeake, VA to watch this game and you LIVE HERE and are FROM HERE (Baltimore) and you're shaking your head about the QB man?" He went on to say; "Flacco is horrible man! I'm sorry! But I have to call it as I see it and he is garbage!"

So, you are not by yourself when it comes to not having confidence in Flacco. There are many people (myself included) that have no trust or confidence in that dude. But, I'll be cheering him and the entire team on tomorrow because; "The enemy (Flacco/Ravens) of my enemy (Steelers) is my friend!" :D
