Joe Flacco

We can barely find an identity to our offense, what makes you think they are creative enough to run what Kap would need to succeed?
Really if Flacco puts up another stinker against Oakland (very likely), then any change might create the spur we are looking for. It doesn't matter if it is Kap, Mallet or Woodrum (probably Woodrum) is going to create the spark for a change of direction. If it is Kap we decide to sign then Marty needs to be fired as well and hand over the reins to Roman who was once Kap's OC. We need to sit Flacco for the rest of the season and stew and recover from his mental and physical issues at playing the position. Let him compete for the starting QB spot next season and see if he can legitimately win back the confidence of the team. If not, try trading him. If that doesn't work, then we'll have ourselves the most expensive backup QB in the history of the NFL.

I don't know why you people think Kap is even a decent NFL QB at this point.

Im not saying we should sign him but he does offer some value that Flacco at this point doesnt, mainly a rare skillset and not turning the ball over. With QBs all over the league shitting the bed like Flacco the Kaepernick talk is not going to end any time soon.

IMO, the play calling does not suite his style. We still don't know exactly what we are good at. The OC with the 9ers did a better job of trying to get guys open and make it easier for Kap.

It does not matter who you bring in, if we are going to be sending guys out on basic routes they will be covered accordingly.
One thing we do know is that....were awful at quarterback!! Bench him and sign Kap.

I agree that we need to do a better job of scheming guys open, but there's too many plays that seem to break down when Flacco even gets a whiff of pressure. It's at the point where if Flacco doesn't have extended time in the pocket then you can pretty much call it an automatic sack or badly thrown pass. He needs to make quicker and better decisions than what's he's been showing on the field.

Would Kap fix these problems? At the very least, he could buy some time with his legs which maybe allows one of our speedy WRs to get open after they run their poorly designed routes.

I would love for Flacco to turn it around and start playing like he has in the past. He needs to play better than the shit he's put on display so far this season. If he can't do it then maybe we need to consider other options.

According to Jeff Zriebec out of the 48 offensive drives(not including the Browns kneel down) 22 of them were 3 plays or less and 7 drives netted negative yards. That what we call pathetic.

Is Flacco playing badly? Yes.

He seemingly though started to get going yesterday, after playing abysmal in the first half. Yes the two interceptions hurt, the first one was a little understandable, the second one wasn't.

I'm like many, a big fan of Flacco and supporter among the years. I can't blame the entire struggle of the offense on him, but it's clear that he isn't playing well , he's not even playing to his usual standards.

He isn't playing well ... and really he hasn't played well for quite some time. I don't know if he's looked truly effective since the playoff in New England.

He's running out of excuses. I've been a supporter too, but I'm at the end of the rope.

Right after Flacco tossed that first INT, I got up and left the stadium to head back to VA. Of course, I also recorded the game so that I can re-watch it primarily to see the last 11:00 mins that I missed caused I left early.

I've been reading a few posters in here saying that the 2nd INT wasn't Flacco's fault. Really? Trying to get the ball to Campanaro, that BUM tossed the ball in a zone with 4 Steelers defenders. What do you think is going to happen? Flacco is TRASH!

Then just let the rope of excuses for Flacco's horrendous game play go or, better yet; just burn the damn thing!

It is time to start looking for Joe's replacement . I'm sure they already are scouting .

I do think he is done. I would be shocked if he comes on strong at any point this season.

By the way, I have been a Flacco apologist for a long time.

Well, the reality is that on that missed pass to Perriman, Joe had plenty of time to throw it. The O-line held up nicely on that play, Perriman just didn't come down with it. He's also not as "athletic" as reported. He has no control of his body once he leaves his feet.

can we get a replay on this play? last I remember it was not a good throw even though Perriman was wide open...From what I can remember Perriman made a move to get open and the ball was thrown in a different direction and high.

That is correct.

Wallace took the corner out of the play and Perriman had a correct idea of getting open into wide open space inside. Flacco threw the ball where Perriman was, not where Perriman was going. And it was too high for no reason.

In coverage slomo from the other angle clearly shows Perriman has already started moving the opposite direction.

That is a great point!

And based upon this gif repeating over and over again, I must retract my previous post about Perriman should have came down with this. It is quite obvious that Perriman was running an inward route towards the endzone when Flacco not only threw it towards the outside but high on top of that. Miscommunication between the two?
Yep, that miscommunication is obvious second year running. Based on how our other WRs are going so far, I am inclined to put that squarely on Flacco, in most cases. There is nobody in the world who can convince me that Wallace has bad hands and Maclin runs bad routes.

I was wrong on that play.

Thank's for sharing that play. It definitely gives you a different perspective on that play. Perriman was running an inside route to the endzone and Flacco threw the ball high and to the outside. Once again, Flacco misses on an easy TD pass and people want to blame the receiver. Wow!

I was editing that post but you were quick on the quote. :D

exactly, this is exactly what I thought. Flacco threw a bad pass and Perriman had to make a move against physics lmfao

So, there seems to be a small minority of people who think the skill positions are bad for the Ravens and lack talent.

I want to hear how others feel with regards to the talent at the offensive skill positions.

Good, but not great at most.

We have some fast players, but fast is only so valuable when you are empty handed.

I am one that feels as though we have no talent at these skilled positions offensively accept for maybe Maclin and Watson. And then again, it could also be a combination of Marty's inability (like Cam and Trestman) to utilize all of them properly!
